interesting factions to play as.
Hey guys I'm no newbie when it comes to this game or Total War in general and you might have seen me around. I got a hankering to play Attila again and though I'm not new I still ahvent played the majority of factions yet.

I'm wondering what factions you would recommend for the Grand Campaign that are interesting. I have already played and won as the Geats, Langobards and WRE and I have played as the Sassanids. I have heard Aksum is quite a hard and interesting playthrough but ws wondering if there were any others you guys would recommend.

The Celts are a whole hell of a lot of fun. Ambushes left and right, guerilla deployment, some interesting late-game units. And they are hard. You can pretty easily conquer Britain, as the WRE won't try very hard to keep it, but conquering the continent gets very difficult. The Romans are just so well-equippped compared to you, and without any super heavy infantry or shock cavalry, the battles will come down to outflanking and fighting the enemy morale more than their actual troops. If you just push your troops against Roman infantry, you will get slaughtered, so you gotta play smart.

The Huns, Alans and Eastern empire are good fun.

Easier games for a good legendary campaign.

Himyar is cool. I’m playing them now with XAI mods

Himyar? I havent had much experience playing or even seeing them since they tend to die before I get to them.

Himyar, Aksumites, Alans, Caledonians. All very different and truly fun campaigns. the first two - Aksum, Himyar get specific missions as well as unique 'flavour' of units.

I found the Schlavenians and Visigoths to be quite fun.

Schalvenians had a nice/unique victory goal, some nice events and bonuses. And i believe they could improve fertility, and got bonus against nomads. So i tried staying in the North East of Europe, fighting of the Huns and nomas, while improving fertility of the land so i could farm. Ended up trying to recreate a mini ancient Russia lol

Visigoths starts with 2 pretty good armies, they have a fairly interesting roster with pikes and falx. It was fun to play a horde faction that started out in the Balkans, and following the mini mission objectives. Pillaging the Byzantines and Western Roman Empire untill i founded my own Visigothic kingdom in Spain.
