worth getting for lotr mod
I remember when Rome 2 came you, all I heard was it was buggy and not very well made, at least that is the impression I was under. So I notice there is a lotr mod which looks very good graphic wise and that pikes my interest. The only thing that would destroy that mod is if the game engine is not very good in the AI department. I bought Total War Warhammer and have been enjoying it quite a lot due to a really nice workshop. So do you think it would be the same experience in this case? All I know is in past total war games it is very easy to manipulate the AI into just dying in mass, like you could herd them like sheep.

if I'm not mistaken the lotr mod is just battles idk how that affects your decision (also I've never used it so I don't really know what its like)

Attila campaign map is hard coded, so don't expect anything major campaign settings with Middle-Earth. Battles are still a thing, but dunno.
Best bet is to just get LOTR mod for Medieval 2 and enjoy that one.

I would not expect an exact replica, just gonna have to improvise, but well as long as you can play muliiplayer I guess that would be close enough. What is battles? Is that just another way of sayying custom battles? But no, I am never going back to Medieval 2 total war, AI is just too crap... I now remember playing it, like I said the ladder AI is horrible, also the units go through eachother which just comes off cheap and kills any sense of realism. If that game was good, would I even care about this? Also from what I see in videos, the music and sounds are very generiic, or are Medieval 2 so kind of kills the immersion aspect.

yeah, unlike here where AI just rushes towards the gate and starts smashing it down gates.
Or in Warhammer, where units pull ladders out of nowhere.

better them at being able to automatically climb the wall than having to get ladders and then not knowing were to actually go, or just being slow for no reason at all. Well if Uruk can suddenly have ladders, then why not in Warhammer? Would not be hard to conseal something like that when everyone is shoulder to shoulder. In Warhammer they pretty much go straight to attacking you and trying to take over. They are very effecient.

http://www.moddb.com/mods/total-war-rise-of-mordor/articles According to this, there will be a campaign so all the comments were kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This game is worth getting for the mod alone!
