The battles are lagging so much that i dont want to play the game and i dont understand why because my pc should be able to run it without any problem..Have tried turning down graphics but it is still lagging. Any suggestions?

I'm experiencing the same issue and i'm going to refund the game right now.. getting like 10fps on "recommended" settings lol
The game can't run well at all maxed out because it is single threaded and 32 bit.

IPC (because it runs on 1 cpu core) would need to be so high to achieve 60 fps all maxed that even an i7 can't do it lol. Maybe by 2021 people will finally be able to :P

You can get steady 60+ fps maxed out with 80 units as long as you are at "God's eye" level.

But if you zoom into a large fight, like more than 10 units duking it out in one spot, and your details are max settings, you will get fps in the 20s even with best hardware: it simply is a factor of the single threaded design.

It was released in early 2015, designed on a structure from 2011.

If anything, blame the PC gaming industry and Intel fetishism for perpetuating an lPC-centric approach to game design that stayed stuck on single threaded engines like 5+ years longer than it should have. Anyone remember Athlon 64 X2 cpus? ;]

The game will play fine, even maxed or close to it, because you really don't play battles zoomed in anyway.

Even with max settings, post process and other stuff has to be dialed back though, like AF.

However, if you are getting low fps even when zoomed out, and/or stuttering/hitching, those are indicators of another deficiency in how the rig is setup or configured.

PS: So give more detail about what you specifically see when it lags, or what you mean by that, and I'll try to help.

Because this game had very bad optimization , i've the same fps only around 28~30 when zoom in to the battle , even with low all or set high all setting

There are mods that fix this in Workshop.

Here in 2024, I got a 4060 with 32gb of ram and a Ryzen 7 5800x, using the 1212AD mod, I'm getting about 8 FPS in battle, at both max and minimal graphics, also the campaign map freezes too, it's everyone, game is just poorly built

I have exactly the same with 15 fps and 23 fps with laptops with RTX 2070 super and RTX 4090 respectively so that must be a common problem.
