I'm playing WRE and I was wondering If i wanted to go full christian do I have to give up all hope of sanitation in my provinces? I see the tech gets rid of all my sanitaion tech once researched.

Sanitation isn't necessary anyway.

Could be wrong, but as I recall it doesn't actually remove your sanitation buildings entirely. It just limits them to the first two tiers. If that is the case, then you can still manage sanitation to some degree.

Also seem to recall some of the WRE town churches giving +sanitation bonuses.

You lose more with every additional Christian technology.

best advice i've seen is if you want the divine victory, save those researches for last.

Save the techs until after the buildings you need are fully built.

yeah in my roman campaign I built as many fully upgraded sanitation buildings as I could before getting the techs. I'd probably just get a mod for it though losing techs as a resurgant roman empire doesnt really make sense.

It represents the degradation of the East as Orthodoxy rose up. Education became less common and being unclean became a sign that you were a better Christian.

It was mostly an infrastructure problem but there's a reason that medieval holy men and crusaders never bathed and it was not because they didn't have access to water or sap. They took the idea of rejecting vanity to an extreme.
