Western Roman heavy elite infantry?
Why doesn't the Western Roman Empire has like,regular-style good heavy infantry with high morale? The only unit that applies to it are Herculani which are expensive and late in game, there is no like, normal legionaries but only peasant-level unit of Comitatensis and Legio and then super-elite-expensive Herculani guards...
Is there a mod that adds some unit in between?

Legio comitatenses? Comes there in the middle right between legio & elite palatina (and later herculani). Armigo defensores & protect-something is in the middle. So there is some that stack up alright with other swords.

yeah but their morale level is 34 so the same as tier I units and in battle they route in minutes after the battle starts...

But WRE gets good generals and gets units that can boost morale relatively early on. If you having morale issues, then you most likely playing it wrong, like trying to make your inf go toe-to-toe with barbarian infantry and hoping to win. Just learn to play to your faction stronger sides.

agree. i was so disapointed in rome in this game so i made a stronger stats mod for rome. the comitasis were assualt troops to take to attack the enemies of rome. yet they are poesant infantry here.... :/
legionary in all time and got better each era (to medieval era) had better training then the old ceasar legionary so its dumb.
