Starting new campaign as Ebdanians
I have played practically every faction category except the Celts. Is there any particularly good opening moves or province building compositions that are good. Their unit roster seems pretty decent too. Any favorites? Aside from fighting them occasionally I dont have too much practice playing them.

Extremely easy campaign. Just too boring. You can develop in isolation and pick apart Western Rome to befriend everybody.

Yeah I figured it would be. Was thinking of a game simlar to the Geats. Conquer my neighbors. Then the rest of Britain. Then decide whether to move to spain or france. All the while befriending my fellow barbarians. Basically a normal Geats campaign except I wont own scandza.

Ally with Saxons. Wipe out fellow celts. by the time you have them destroyed the Saxons will have done massive damage in southern Britain and you can clean up.

its annoying in attila that you need certain conditions to unlock units, i.e. heroic victories. their is a mod that allows you to get scathas teachers without heroic victories

Really? Says you only need a Bard's Hall to recruit them.

Yeah it's news to me too. Heroic victories for unlocks?

Wipe out the Caledonians first, since they'll almost immediately attack the WRE and take its British holdings, and once they have a walled city or two it'll be really difficult to defeat them since you only have one small village and a pretty mediocre economy.

I know in at least one campaign I couldn't train them because I hadn't gotten a heroic victory in battle (better safe than risk an army and leave your borders open). The army feels week against super heavy infantry...it definitely taught me to love javelins again instead of going all archers.

I've noticed that Fianna are a lot like Hirdmen. They can hold their own for relatively cheap. The majority of my armies are these guys. I forgot how annoying fighting the Norse were though. Fear and immunity from fear. damn.

Yeah the Fianna are a sweet unit.

Also agree though with Father Ribs that Ebdanians do well going skirmisher heavy.

It is turning into a relatively easy campaign though. I'm on VH and so far the hardest thing I have had to do is square off with WRE. They resurged in my game and I had just conquered and was stablilizing Britania Superior when they send two stacks through the straight.

I'm not used to the WRE actually fighting back so fiercely. So I keep those Fianna as the main line and do simple flanking maneuvers with Axe Bands after softening them up with crosbows. Except at the time I didn't have crossbows yet... Simple strategies but if it works it works.

Also I'm looking at their stats but Fianna have a ton of health like Hirdmen for Medium Infantry.

I'm having more fun then I thought I would considering the relative safety of the British Isles. Its mostly because WRE is hell bent on wiping me out which isn't normal behavior for them.

I'm playing as the Picts right now, and it's almost unfair. One of your edicts provides +10 morale for new recuits (This means your levy/warband start with 49 base morale). Then you combine their factional bonus: +9 Morale during night battles, and the ability for all armies to engage in night battles.

I've then deployed several units in Guerilla mode and isolate their units, and from there, cause their lines to collapse. So far all of England is mine, and that includes fighting the Ebdanians who managed to expand into France. But I've gone to war with the Jutes as well, and have them sending re-inforcements but not knowing where to land, or commiting to land.
