Arranged Marriages
Arranged marriages have the affect of improving relations in Attila but are apparently, otherwise worthless.

I have been playing with arranged mariages trying to work out if there is anything else to them other than improving relations witht e target faction but there appears to be none, which is sadly disappointing.

I think it would be an AWESOME idea if it were possible yo use marriages more strategically, more like how they were used in real life. It would be nice to be able to form a personal union with other factions, whether it be via conquest or natural inherritance via family ties.

This would be firther improved if you were able to intergrate/annex the lesser partner in a union / client states.

The Total War series feels as though it is becoming an increasingly basic game ammongst all of the other, far more in-depth games that are currently on the marketand this is sad :(

IMAGINE!

JUST IMAGINE!

What if the diplomacy and economy of Europa Universalis IV was merged with Total War for the ULTIMATE grand strategy game. What a game.....

The original MTW actually has a mechanic like you are describing. It's pretty cool 😁

The downside (depending on how you look at it) is that you can get succession wars, where another faction has claim to your lands, which in turn can either cause your faction to disappear more or less instantaneously, or a civil war within your faction.

That's probably why CA removed it, because most casual tw players would find it confusing or irritating.

The ai can have trouble handling it amongst itself too, similar to how region trading was.

I hope they refine it and bring it back for the next, historically based game though.
So basically we had a more complex and in-depth system but it had to be removed because there were too many re-ta-rds?

Why cant the re-ta-rds stick to CoD or Battlefield and let actual people play actual games without them being dumbed down to crappery.

Well, we don't know why exactly CA removed it. I'm just saying, if I had to guess, that it was to streamline things.

You're probably correct though. It was probably a move to target the market of dirty-casuals.

lol i like to marry daugthers from puppet factions or even send of my daughters to them. It makes it a lot easier to have them remain loyal instead of having them backstabbing me^^

This is true and a good tactic but with the complete lack of diplomatic depth to the game, it's purely a shallow action. Youre probably just as well declaring war on them and taking their lands.

Literally no use to allies in Total War imho
