Is this going to be the next Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor?
While potentially looking okay, a lot of people are getting worried about certain choices being made, the fact that the interface is obviously being hamstrung for consoles, and a lot of other things. It's been awhile since we've had a good D&D game. After Baldur's gate, Ubisoft tried that crap fest Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor . It was an attempt to move the engine forward, and instead just turned out to be god awful and be a blight on the franchise that no one likes to talk about.

Is this basically going to be the sequel to that?

No. I have been critacle of this game since I first started following it, but do not believe it will be a bomb. I believe it is based on DnD but not true DnD as the rules state it out. This game is made to be a good single player experience with a tool to allow DM's to make quick dungeon crawls or run quick campaigns. Yes there are many features missing, and some that really make me scratch my head like only having random loot instead of coming up with a system that allows balance in some groups yet allows campaign groups to have the loot controlled and essientally created by the DM. No scripting in the DM mod tool is also a HUGE minus.

I was about ready to give up on this game if it wasn't for one Developer, Forkliftkiller. He has instilled in me 2000% more confindence in this game then their community liason, ASS I mean Ash ever did. (I find it more trusting to hear info from a developer than someone who is paid to put a spin on things.) Kudos to you sir for taking care of the Steam crew. Because of him, I am hopeful that the shortcomings of the game will be addressed in time and that what is realeased, while not a Absolute true representation of DnD, will be close enough and fun enough to keep us engaged until the issues are corrected.
