Masha has a charge attack that uses one of the up to five seed items you can collect to do a specific attack, and some of them have freeze effects (the only useful effect)

And y'know, actually, I did notice the charge attack during the Zuzu boss fight on my first playthrough, but it didn't do much damage, so I just kind of wrote it off as useless and never used it again. I didn't notice any connection to the resources you have collected.

Maybe Metroidvania people need an explanation here. As an action game player, when I pick up items in a Metroidvania game that don't have an immediately obvious purpose, I assume they're healing items, or crafting materials; regardless, some kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheat item that I should ignore. I filter them out. So the idea that these seeds could be used with a charge attack to do something didn't occur to me (and, to be fair, it's very ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid & unintuitive in the first place) isn't something i respect in the first place

Yeah, the game doesn't tell you a lot of things, like freezing lava/water and shattering them (I only know this because I played Demon Purge) or super dash allows you to run over water surface. It's even worse before patch 1.1.4 where they don't show you button command in the tutorial, I got stuck because I don't know how to do the big punch.

Agreed. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think this game needs MORE tutorials or instructions.

Usually I'm frustrated when games have TOO MANY tutorials. Now I know what other designers are afraid of.

Lmao, most of your issues seem to come from pressing skip too much, including skipping the tutorial pop-up windows the first time they appear. You also didn’t recheck them in Gramp. The tutorial windows actually show the correct button layout for either K&M or controller.

Okay, you're right. The tutorial does specifically mention this.

I think what happened is that I assumed the tutorial was going to explain switching between the characters, and basic differences between the characters, so i just mashed through it, assuming it was unimportant filler

I do wonder how many of us ADHD people did the same thing.

Tutorial just say basic what it does and small hint( some time talk dialogue metion does), other mechanic (or glitch) you need find when play the game.

Hold RB + LB, or you can also press RB while in the middle of dash motion, idk the keyboard control, but it's Hold [Demon Power] + [Dash].
If your game is updated to v1.1.4 the tutorial should show you the button command now.
