Game doesn't start

Hi,

First of all try starting game without Steam and see if shows a missing DLL error. If yes, then either you need to install Visual Studio Redist 2012 Update 4.

Verify Game Cache

1. Go to Steam Library
2. Right-click on 'Shadow Warrior2' and select 'properties'
3. Go to 'Local Files' tab
4. Select 'Verify Game Cache'

Visual Studio Redist 2012 (Update 4)

Install it from game's redist folder as an Admin or download from internet:

Disable Chroma

Add -nochroma to properties->general->set launch options.

Safe mode

Add -safe to properties->general->set launch options. If it works you may want to try -nochroma or -novideos to localize the issue.

It still won't start.
I downloaded Windows 10 N/KN Update 1511 for x64, installed, restarted my PC, got the error anyway. I downloded x86 version despite running x64 Win10, restarted again, still the error.

Same for me. I get no error message and Steam displays that I a playing the game for a few seconds before it eventually goes back to online status.

Install *NEWEST* Feature Pack.
I found that newest one is: KB3133719.

Now game is running... but I have no sound.

EDIT: False alarm about sound, Feature Pack ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my sound settings.

Same here crash tyo desktop before logo screens even..
*Edit. manually updated from Redist folder and installed newest nvidia drivers, still no go.

Using Win 7.

I'm pretty sure this only works for Windows N. I have normal Windows 10 and I still can't start the game.

Well I installed the files

and restarted my system. Now it works, no soundproblems at all. Game works !

I dont quitre understand how u managed users to have such problems in 2016 year. Such a disgrace. Every game i have runs OK, but there is SW2 that needs some other ♥♥♥♥ to run and im not getting any error to see what i should do - i should search the internets by myself to solve problems. wtf

Game crashed spectaculary, and my display drivers died (GeForce GTX560, yeah, I know, it's old). Win10 greated me in 1024x768. Reinstalling now...

If this problem is not fixed by tomorrow I will request a refund, I am not wasting money on something that does not run properly - I don't go to work every morning for nothing.

And no, I have tried everything suggested here and other common troubleshooting techniques.
All my other 200 games run fine by the way.

OS: Win 10 64bit
GTX 980 TI Strix
I7 6700k
16GB Ram
2TB HDD

At first I got some sort of error saying that a DLL is missing, after installing these media feature packs (the newer ones btw not the old ones that are listed here) the error was gone but the game still closes 5 sec after startup with no sign of the game starting up at all. (apart from the steam notifier saying that you are in game)
