How does merge gem work?

Whenever I click on the merge gem tab, I see my weapons, some of which have gems, but when I click on any of them, nothing happens. Nothing gets selected, nothing gets merged, I have no idea what this option does. Is it because I need more orbs? Right now I've been mainly spending my orbs upgrading my weapons base stats but is there some cost that I'm not reaching? Or is it just a bug on my copy?

You have to select merge gem and then add a weapon. Add the gem you want to merge and it should show a cost in orbs. Then click the little button at the bottom of the circle display. It's just above the cost, a little confusing at first. To add a weapon click on it's box or hover on it and a + sign on the right side should show up, this is how you add.your weapon to the merge box. The cost is different for each gem my first one was 520, so if you don't have enough orbs it might not let you add a weapon, Im not sure?

Hm, I'm not seeing the plus. I just click on the weapon and nothing happens. Lemme try again, though.

I don't have anywhere near 520 orbs right now so maybe that's why? I spent most of it on upgrading base weapons.

Yeah. I'm checking the merge gem tab and there's no way for me to actually add any sort of weapon. I click on a weapon and it's highlighted but not actually selecting.

I to am at that same point in the game, but I think you also have to do the trials 1st and unlock those before your able to add gems. Now all I have is access to the crafting part and ready to do the trials.

I already did all the trials. First things I did when I booted up the game after the update. I've been using the orbs to upgrade base weapon stats a lot, which is great as it finally has a form of player driven progression, but so far I have no idea how to even do merge.

Wow, so your passed that part huh, If I find how they work, I'll reply back later today. That last boss fight took it's toll on me last nite, only to have her get up n walk away. I crafted afew items and left soon after. I'll pick it up later today. c-ya then.

as for embedding, purifying, boosting DPS, or adding a 4th slot goes, i'd recommend waiting until one has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of Orbs. because the process can be extremely costly, and you'll have to grind like crazy.

add weapon, add gem into slot, press button. as simple as that. works like a charm.

yea i figger it's gonna be easy, I just need to sit and do it. this is my 1st play-thru, so i'm gonna try what i can, and waste what I want. If I have to start a new game, cause I messed up, thats ok too.

Alright you should see this whole setup when you click the tab

It should already have a weapon selected but you click on whatever weapon you're wanting to embed a gem into, then you should see a giant circle with a + symbol inside of it, highlight in this picture.

Now you should see this menu full of gems with your weapon up in that slot on top to the right.

Once again, the game will automatically have a gem selected but you can of course select a different one, same highlighted plus button.
