no, empire at war can only use 1gb of ram since its a 2006 (very old)
theres no way to fix this since the devs need to make a brand new engine (or something like that)
its all about your CPU. A good GPU wont do the job on its own. I run it on a i9 13900ks and a rtx3090. I got that specific CPU cause its every core was powerful. This game will not use all your cores. It will probably use only one so you need a CPU with strong individual cores. My old i9 10900k was not good enough so i upgraded to the 13900ks, of course i needed it for flight sims among other things so its not like i got it just for the remake mod.

And it doesn’t need to be Intel specifically. My Ryzen 7 7800x3D runs this game really well.

And my Ryzen 7 3700X runs this game like total garbage right now.

Which is odd, since I played this game 2 years ago, too, and it ran smoothly back then.

I probably found a solution for me:
I set my resolution to

1920x1080 50Hz

instead of the usual 60Hz
GC map seems smooth now, and I tested a battle on Felucia (AotR) and it was also smooth.
Still odd, since I know this game used to run excellent at 60Hz 2 years back with the same PC.

No such issue here I leave it at default refresh rate. It doesn't matter too much since my monitor has freesync which is gsync compatible.

That was only a workaround crutch anyway. I found a solution that should help most people:

dgvoodoo

It's a graphics API wrapper that solves most issues with games from the early 2000's. Now I have my 80-90 FPS, but still a short stutter every 10 secs.

You are my hero!!! I've used dgvoodoo earlier, but could not even think, it can be SO USEFULL with this game!
I've been in pain with this problem for so long...
Thanks so much - You’re incredible!!!
