They are aware that many of use are interested, these comments will fall on deaf ears as it's been quite some time now.
The implementation of a proper anti-cheat system is highly necessary.
I feel that there would be a lot of inconsistencies with the Valve anti-cheat system being used as it would have a lot of interference; since many modify their game files; the reticles, models and so on.
They need to add an anti-cheat system of their own as is similar to over-watch.
Over the years of playing Halo, it's not difficult to find when a player is aimbotting or wall-hacking.
But you can get the PC-CD version secondhand. Many classic Halo installments are fully downloadable, responding to valid PC-CD keys. For example, the SPV3 redux version, coming along with multiplayer-only Custom Edition.
Though lately I saw the SPV3 was causing some exception data kind of crash.

The alternative that could be used for map-makers is the Steam workshop, where we submit files.
But again, all maps can be accessed using a third-party plugin that automatically downloads maps from its servers; that tool is know as Halo Anti-Cheat 2.
Combat Evolved is an old game and trying to polish it out would take a lot of work, warping a price many would question, eventually quitting to workarounds. Low price tag at least makes people to get it. You see, better to have Halo that way rather than nothing or some shady solution.
I bought the game on PC-CD, inflated price, but I am satisfied.
