MInimap on/off, compass
Been looking at the minimap and it is really nice but i have some few things i hope you would atleast think about

Minimap is not for everyone, so one thing i think would be extremely important would be the option to turn it on and off, if you want to explore on your own with total immersion and no help that should atleast be available

also it would be really cool if you could add a simple compass line too, so the people who dont want a minimap atleast have a general idea of where they are going, i would use that

the game is shaping up to be amazing but the biggest mistake most devs make it making people play the ui and not the game, meaning that there are so many ui things you look at that you dont actually notice the game. which is why a compass feature would be neat

Thanks for listening to my rant, keep up the great work

We totally agree.

Actually to "enable" the mini-map and compass you'll need to craft and equip them in the game. So if you don't want them don't craft or carry them. So it's fully in your control. We also plan for a few tiers of compass / minimap, so you can quickly craft a cheap version whilst you find (or trade for) the resources needed for the feature rich versions.

You didn't think you'd get them for free did you ;-)

Our general aim is to make sure that all the features in the game are gameplay enabled.

thats epic o.o another aspect concerning maps that would be worth a thought was an idea on the official forums, that somehow you could make maps of certain areas or maybe entire worlds that could then be placed, that way guilds or towns could have war rooms with maps of all the places they would like to go to and they could plan how they would like to go about it, know it would be hard as hell but atleast thanks for replying so fast :D

I feel ya' Zouls. In v1.0 you can turn it off entirely. In the future we'll probably have a minimal 'no map visuals / only show waypoints' mode as well.

No! That's epic!

Would need to think about how it would work. Nothing stopping it from working technically. But it's a cool idea.

(I was almost expecting people to ask for buying / selling maps. Expect fog of war / unexplored areas at some point.)

Would love to beable to craft a map that can be placed on a wall or table maybe have the ablitiy to place markers on it XD

It would be cool for guilds to plan raids or take on a titan maybe even another town or city and have everyone see the same map if nothing else just cool to look at especially if its detailed.

One feature that I would like to turn off is the warping on the edges of the minimap- though that looks cool, it distorts what you're seeing as a builder, especially on large buildings that go outside of the minimap range. Also could we have a size option, so we could bring it up into better focus when we want to put all our attention into the map? this would make finding your way and surveying builds much easier.
