If only...
I was looking to purchase this.... and it's on sale so that's good.

But I won't... I'm tired of games not having English Dubs.. so I'll have to pass for now.

Is there a chance this might be Dubbed in English some day?

I really doubt Clannad will ever get an English dub sadly.

Well that is unfortunate... guess I'll have to find another game to purchase then.

You should still give the game a try. You will be missing out on such a great story which you may actually really like.

I might be missing out on a great story, but I'm hoping that by doing so... and others not purchasing the games that aren't full audio that Developers get the hint... some Developers are getting the idea.

Edit: It's kind of silly to have a VN that you have to miss the visuals because you're reading the subs text at the bottom of the screen... might as well be reading only text then.

Honestly, not trying to be rude (to either you or the developer) but they don't care about your small time opinion. I say small time because it is in the scope of things. Understand that a lot of times these games don't even get translated into english. Usually people who are into visual novels pirate them from somewhere and apply a fan made patch. The fact that the game is in english at all is a godsend.

Not to mention the game is years old now. The reason it even came out on steam in the first place was because some people who have seen the anime wanted to play the visual novel without pirating it. Or buying it from a japanese website. Or even wanted official translations/localization. It being a visual novel, you're not missing much in terms of audio. In fact as a reader of some, I tend to turn off voice acting and just experience it like a book. Music and sounds but no voice except the ones I give them.

It is your choice however, but do realize that complaining won't sway such an old game having english dub.

TLDR - Turn off voice audio and experience it like a book not a game. Game too old to redub.

Please there is no need to mad. Also I just wanted to say a little bit of what I think.

Like what Kiyoi said we are very lucky to even get an official translation of the game in English there are way too many VNs that are Japanese only that I want to play but can't. And there are many VNs that don't even have voices so you are actually expected to read the sub text anyways even if there is audio for your language.

There is nothing stopping you from reading and looking at the visuals. Whats great about visual novels is that you can play them at your own pace so you can read, look at the visual and think whats going on without any worries.

You might as well just watch the anime at that point

I mean, it took years for this game to get english translation and only with the help of the community, we are lucky that we have this game in english, lots of good japanese games are never oficially translated to english, i really like this game so it's worth.

As a Chinese, I think I know your feelings. In the fact, this game has Chinese edition until recent years, though it release 2004

What he said. That'll give you the more visceral viewing experience you want, and save you loads of time to boot.

VNs don't rely on text/visual synchronisation very much in the first place; when they do, most games I've played slow-scroll the text while it's center-screen, so you can't miss anything. Unless you're talking about quick gags or minigame sections, in which case I get a bit where you're coming from.

it really is embarrasing to see that someone would give such an awesome VN a pass only because it doesn't have engdub....
Makenshi Jun 16, 2020 @ 8:30pm
It is no trivial task to do a quality dub for 300 hours of audio, and nothing ruins a good story like a bad dub. I would say at least 8 times out of 10 I prefer subs over dubs across any media that's not audiobooks for obvious reasons.

Honestly, given how niche the market is for visual novels, I don't think it will ever be profitable for these Japanese vn makers or their publishers to dub their games.
