I'm honestly amazed in that depressed way how defensive people get when you suggest something for WW2 games. When I keep suggesting Canadian representation people keep whining and moaning, blocking you because of how minor Canadians are viewed in the grand scheme of things. People just walking all over Canadians & other Commonwealth nations. People always want to flaunt how logical and wise they are while simply simply blocking those desiring specific things in a game. People desiring Commonwealth nations (Canada, Poland, Australia, & New Zealand, among others) to be their own faction, yet people whining its somehow going to destroy the game. My fight consisted of fighting with various people constantly denying you on every chance without meeting you halfway. They view meeting you halfway "stupid", thus no intelligent discussions can be had. Happened on Reddit, happened on Discord. I'm furious. It even happens on Steam forums. They simply stated Canadians aren't their own entity because they fall under the RN, and would "complicate" the game in some weird manner. How, I don't know. People are weird.
People overthinking things to the point they miss the point by overreaching & stating things. Keep things simple and we can have simple things. My changes are to simply pay respect to their name & nationality, similar to what another game does with KanColle.... View Gangut.......
https://kancolle.fandom.com/wiki/Gangut
I don't expect you to understand this, I however admire KanColle's seriousness over Azur Lane's simplistic nature at times. I want some historical accuracies in places so you can respect Canadians fully, as with other nations. Canadians need to have their own faciton, with HMCS, so they can be properly represented. HMS Haida is not HMCS Haida..... What World of Warrships, War Thunder, & other games had done is lazy...... I wish game developers were less lazy. I wish they were more like Ubisoft Romania, or even those who gave Canadians their own faction for 'Steel Division - Normany '44'..... It shouldn't be as hard as people make it out to be.
It should be easy breezy adding Canadians into war games, but noooooo, it's going to cause an apocalypses...........
------------------------
I have a simple desire (a simple request):
Let me connect with my Canadian identity. Let me have Canadians as a faction in WW2 games without the tantruming. Let me have HMCS Haida, her destroyer pals, Light Cruisers, aircraft carriers, and all the units known to be in WW2....
Ever since Battlefield 1942 came out I found out we took part in WW2, I wanted to be a part of that. I see a bit of myself in that because I was born in Canada, I want representation. I don't want to see USA in games 24/7, I want representation, thus I admired Silent Hunter 3 for being an awesome game from a German perspective. It was new, unique, and fun. I later found out Canadians had their own units in the game as AI traffic, something I'm doubly praising Ubisoft Romania for. Attention to detailing is key.
I love KanColle because it was also paying attention to WW2 units. It taught me about WW2, WW2 warships, while also making them more 'personal' in connection. Its thanks to KanColle I wanted to learn more about Canada's contribution to WW2, especially naval side. We were no pushovers, though we were pushed thin like the Romans trying to be everywhere at all times. I just love being a history nerd when it comes to vehicles and aces. I do view things in a "rosey" kind of way thanks to Anime's Strike Witches, and other series.
Look, I have a genuine reason to be angry and frustrated. Everybody is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lazy and abusive while 'Silent Hunter 3' still stays as the best Submarine game out there.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DWhJtwg6dM
Still the best Submarine game out there, and for a good reason. Nobody wants to copy, inspire, or mirror it. Maybe Uboat, but that's about it. Nobody wants to make a good surface warship game, and that's highly concerning. We have Silent Hunter 4, yet still view Silent Hunter 3 as the best. Perfect music, everything.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/15210/Silent_Hunter_III/
There is an honestly good reason why this game is still a gem. Quality & care for your content. Mods adding onto it, though fading with time. It has necessary factions, though age is its only downside.
------------------
WW2 games with Canadians
- Battlefield 1942 (Patches & expansions)
- Atlantic Fleet (Merged with Royal Navy)
- Victory at Sea (merged with Royal Navy; Missing bigger units)
- Steel Division - Normandy '44 (Land based Canadians | Hard gameplay)
- World of Warships (HMCS Haida - I hate MMO styled games; Needs Silent Hunter 3 free-roam)
- War Thunder (HMCS Haida - Same reason, same Royal Navy banner.)
---------------
On a side-note:
I also boast my Canadian pride in Euro Truck Sim 2 using the paint shop. Same in Bus Simulator 18, though don't play that. Anything Canadian, I do it. I'm not shy, unlike my Canadians who were taught to hate Americans while fearing their own history. People call me dramatic, but that's only because other people do nasty guilt tripping pushbacks. I'm only dramatic because people want me to be dramatic.
I have a simple desire, let me have it.
Its honestly depressing when you have "players" denying other players from having what they desire. Australians wanted their Australian faction in WW2, as with New Zealand, and Canadians. Same with Polish, yet you have counter-players saying how they're a "minor nation", "causes UI Clutter", "would break the game", "too complicated" among other very stupid reasonings.
I've fought with people on KanColle wiki & Forums; Azur Lane Reddit, Twitter, & Discord.
"No Fun Allowed!"
Back in December 27, 2017 some guy made respect to Canada's past. He modded the game to add Canada's 'planned' three Queen Elizabeth-Class Battleships into their campaign to do turn based battles. This honestly surprised me because this isn't my posting, it's someone else's posting. It gives weight to Canadians, something I want to see more of.
https://steamcommunity.com/app/420440/discussions/0/1621724915791148747/
This surprised me because this gives Canadians more of a spotlight from the planned 1913's Naval Bill Act, something which was stiffly denied in senate. The names should however be the following:
HMCS Ontario, HMCS Acadia, & HMCS Quebec
When you have something Canadian to play with it goes a long way of having fun, experimenting, and connecting with your Canadian pride. Just as the Germans have SIlent Hunter 3 Canadians deserve something for all their heavy sacrifice and contribution. Instead, Canadians keep being kicked into the ground by fake players in the Azur Lane community, WW2 naval communities, and etc.
I'm bitter & salty for a reason. It's because I keep encountering people being tribal-mentality type parrots. Think for yourself, don't deny people just because you're an egoistical idiot assuming they're right 24/7.
My wish is simple: I just want to connect with my Canadian side of things :)

This should answer your curiousity, and on a Canadian note. I'm glad they're posting more of these.
----------
We have the following games with Canadians officially and unofficially........
Silent Hunter 3
(Canadians as AI traffic as their own thing. As it should be, though sadly missing their late war assets.)
Civilization 3
(Modded; Not properly)
Civilization 6
(Added, though stereotypically. I'm frustrated, more so with lame-ass stereotypes)
Rise of Nations
(Modded; Not properly)
Battlefield 1942
(Expansions; Decent. Was fun seeing them there, especially fighting Italians.)
Victory at Sea
(Under Royal Navy using HMS tag; Frustrating. Memorable being chased by 'HMS Haida' as Japanese. Appears to be prematurely abandoned for another game in their library.)
Atlantic Fleet
(Under Royal Navy; Frustrating. Lazy, though models are decent quality.)
World of Warships
(Only HMCS Haida; No other vessels like light-cruisers or aircraft carriers)
War Thunder
(Only HMCS Haida; No other vessels like light-cruisers or aircraft carriers)
Dictators: No Peace Countryballs
(Has Canada and every nation, if in generic form. I had my fun)
Steel Division - Normandy '44
(French Developer/studio added in Canada as their own side. The way it should be done, sadly landbased only. One of the better games.)
Wargames - Red Dragon
(Same French devs as above adding in Canadians in a turtle defensive manner in modern era. Still have yet to play, though high respect)
Hearts of Iron IV
(Recently became aware you can play as any nation, even Canada. As it should be, though not really my cup of tea. Needs to be easier to play, Rise of Nations style, or something.)
Radio General:
(Has Canadians viewed in flavour text & audio. Command your troops with commands in a tent. Proud for more Canadian representation and even HMCS ships appearing in text form. Sadly, not my zone of interest at the time of suggestion.)
Beyond The Wire:
(Adding in the Canadians in an update with other ANZAC nations to fight in a WW1 FPS battle. Vehicles shall follow after. I'm tempted in trying it out, more so when bots come around to mess around in. I can't play things as seriously as I used to.)
--------------
Victory Belles
(A mobile game similar to 'Kantai Collection' and 'Azur Lane', if overly belated in releasing. Has HMCS Saguenay, that is about it. Problem is I've been socially lynched and abused I view this game in a negative light. Dialogue heavy, and etc. Developers won't listen to my feedback causing more needless frustration than necessary.)
War at Sea
(If they can have naval battles then they should allow for Canadians. They'll look into it, if the game lives that long.)
Pacific Fleet
(Would have been nice to see HMCS Uganda, or even one of the three 'HMCS Prince (X)' vessels. Or a 'what-if' situation.)
Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnought
(I genuinely vented, even had a breakdown moment requesting Canadians. Only gained word from players voiding my thoughts and the thought of having Chinese vessels, even if they've been added regardless. Having a free-mode campaign with minor nations would have made this game overly epic. It could easily become one of the best naval games out there.)
Victory at Sea:
(Has Canadians under RN, and as HMS (not HMCS), tried nudging for their own faction. Denied. Game was also prematurely abandoned for another title.)
Task Force: Admiral:
(A Pacific oriented game aimed for pure realism and overly strict linear gameplay. Requested seeing HMCS Uganda, was considered though have bad blood with developer over Dutch comment, explained in previous posting in this thread.)
Kantai Collection (KanColle):
(Constantly waited for Canadians to be added, none was. Americans, French, Royal Navy, Swedish, and Australians were. Americans whined and moaned about no Americans for them to eventually be added, just no Canadians. I feel betrayed. Also, it'll be a case of 'a little to late' seeing as how I dropped out. Others have also because the developers don't know what "fun" is. If I ever get a hold of an MMD model of the potential Canadians I'm going to import them into the first game I'll see; Rising World. Americans kept whining and moaning they haven't had their units added it annoyed me, yet we aren't allowed to have Canadians. I've countered with Canadian arguments, threads were locked constantly, or a flame war would ensue.)
Azur Lane:
(Ongoing request by others and myself within the Azur Lane community. After being teased by HMS Fortune's dialogue with 'Maple Monarchy', wallpaper, and etc we wanted to see Canadians. We want to see our naval roster in full with HMCS Haida, all the DDS, the two light cruisers, various aircraft carriers, and such. We just want to see our Canadian representation, CCP willing. CCP most likely has to allow Yostar/Manjuu to approve of Canadians with the whole IRL political nonsense and NSFW crackdown on their Chinese server.)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSDwy5e94ZE
Then I spotted another video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mH0e-fBPZzg
Alright, I'm genuinely pissed off and fuming right now because I can't find a single naval WW2 game with Canadians right now. Everything is just stupid right now because game developers.
Wargaming has been caught releasing low-tier premiums while taking advantage of two community members, having prompted them to create Canada Day celebration assets for them in both 2020 and 2021; The latter they wasted 18 months of their hard work on. They refused to use HMCS Nunavik's assets, less so with the skin. They instead used their own fictional HMCS Yukon variant of Monarch Battleship. They eventually caved wanting to implemented after much push back, especially when their members kept roasting them for even using two of their staff members as "sacrificial lambs".
I tried out Wargaming's World of Warship making it further than I previous could, then pissed off by the gameplay for how lacking it is. I'm sure it could be good if I could learn the game, I can't. They also abused many people, removed HMCS Haida from the premium shop while inserting HMCS Yukon for $50 standard, and $100 for full premium with Canadian skin. ♥♥♥♥ that.
I was going to defend Wargaming for constantly acknowleding Canadians exist, they however went on their brutal premium war path to abuse 4 people (or more), cheat players out of their money, and not improve their game while also refusing to acknowledge concerns from player base.
-----------------
-
With the whole July 1st Canada Day and "American Day" for July 4th both War Gaming & Gaijin Entertainment screwed up. War Thunder fairs slightly better, they however enacted a fake 'false scarcity' mentality of removing HMCS Haida to use them as premium cash cow. They're using Canadians as cash cows.
-----------
Sorry, Red51. I'm going to be bugging you more and more because other game developers are greedy, scamming, and I just want voids filled in. Seeing my Canadians used as Premium cash cows is beyond frustrating. Any regular player of WoWs/War Thunder can't normally play Canadians unless they spent 50-100 Canadian, or wait for false digital scarcity to roll over. Nobody wants to add Canadians in. HMCS Haida was removed just as quickly as she was inserted.
Your game could potentially be the best one if you allow ships to fire guns from their structure. If you allow WW2 era turrets, allow Minesweepers or Corvette Class vessels then I'll be the happiest camper. I'm sorry you're seeing my frustration everywhere, blame Wargaming for their abuse and the lacking Canadians when Silent Hunter 3 had them as AI traffic. I'm not asking you to enable battleships and aircraft carriers, just something small so some certain desires could be satisfied. Attack pirates, or any other hostile enemies in boats........
I'm fuming mad right now that I can understand if you want to DM me to tell me to shut the hell up. I've been yelling at every WW2 naval game to add them, nobody wants to. Your game is the only one that now can give hope where none has. Its weird, yes. Again, blame the overly greedy and skittish game developers.
I'm so angry I could bang a keyboard, I'm resisting. Instead, I'm taking it out in 'rambly' words to where someone could potential DM me telling me to shut up. Maybe if people could just do the right thing instead of being stupid........
----------------
I know you guys don't give a crap. I DO. My Canadians DO. Anybody who respects Canada without going all SJW cares about Canada AND their navy. Gamers who are proudly Canadian want to connect with their Canadians in WW2, unless they're guilt tripped by faux SJW activism..... You'll probably see me as "sensitive", its more like game developers refusing to have games be "fun"; Refusing to learn from Silent Hunter 3 to make their new game proper.
I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ told an alleged indie game developer on Youtube to simply make the world open world, insert boats in the arcade, and to just let the player make up their story instead of making pre-defined story scripts. Just drop them in the world, let them fight random traffic, and level up own their own as they travel the world in their own manner. You can scale the world down to make it more fun, if desired. Keep the fun basic while tapping into EVERY Nation (look at Silent Hunter 3), and you're set. Simple formula, simple advice. Or you could naturally add in Canadians into a proper free-roamy open world WW2 naval game and allow us to wave our maple flag without denying us on every turn and corner.
Canada Supposedly Built the Best Fighter Interceptor No One Ever Heard Of - Avro CF-105 Arrow:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBAF0Sl2Hq4
The guy made a few mistakes so I have to correct him noting how Canadians are well aware we have the Avro Arrow, just not the navy we had during WW2. How Canadians kept screwing with their own military because they can't make up their minds from their own brainless naivette. Canadians are stupid... They're smart when it matters, but they're also equally as stupid when it comes to "doing the right thing" to a severe fault. Same with politics, and military......
Avro Arrow used to be the best plane out there until politics played a part. Maybe USA bullied Canada, now all we have is Bombardier, a company outsourced by Airbus in Europe. We Canadians lost out way..........
I'm proud we Canadians are mentioned again, just a shame because of this game developers also ignore Canadians. Screw those game developers. We only count when it's time to cash-cow us as DLCs for World of Warships, War Thunder, or treat us as stereotypical morons in Civilization game.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2306079189
I miss the time we could actually be true to our Canadian identity. We're always afraid of everything while pretending to be fake saviours of the world. At least we had a cool plane which also appears in 'Project Wingman' :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7QfkAVqW3c
It's neat seeing a wreck of a ship sailing under the water, as haunting as it is. I agree with another person the video should have been slowed down a fair amount for that added spookiness.
Scarnhorst-Class Battleship. Neat! Some German naval pride to hype up.
(At least on an KanColle & Azur Lane manner. Love how Japanese (now Chinese, etc) folks hype these naval stuff up.)
