i think he meant that magic only could protect us from hells fire / heat. not that magic has its origin in hell.
@MustangMR - fully agree here. And i am quite disappointed that these wonderful caverns are only to be found that deep. While higher up we have to life with these ugly and unnatural "worm holes"
I wouldn't want a ton of them and enough dirt and stone that you could build on top of them without so easily busting through to the cavern underneath, but yeah I definitely agree it's a shame we don't have the big caverns closer to the surface. I'd love to have some breeches, etc. with vegetation growing on the bottom along with the natural pools.
yea, that would be awesome. i do not know why red decided to implement the caverns only that deep but keep the wormholes from java for the upper layers.
but im sure sooner or later we get more variations and better caves/caverns as well as vegetation in it. moss, fungus, mushrooms etc.
Though I will admit Draven brought up an interesting take on that, one I would agree with personally, but won't debate here. :)
Smaller caverns would be cool along the way, and I think they could frame the dungeons that I hope are coming. I usually build walkways across the water down there and set torches all around and it looks so cool. Would be even cooler to discover a cavern and see a fortress lit up with torches, torch carrying skellies walking around protecting it, and all ready for the sacking.
Red mentioned in a discussion that he has plans for "underground biomes". So chances are the upper underground layers will feature more than the simple tunnels we get now, at some point.
When? Guess not even the devs can tell. Just wish they manage to do something in the likes of what Minecraft did, but as immersive as the surface biomes of Rising World were done.
