Aluminum
Hi

How far deep is aluminium and gold??

I think I found the right arctic mountain which is long tall and narrow far North.

Dug about 30 meters down and still can only find iron ore. Is there away to check depth in cave??

I think this should show on HUD plus a clock.

You can use the console command "coordinates" to find your elevation. I found aluminum on the arctic, quite a bit of it. Find a cave and work your way through it. Should find some in there.

Gold is in the desert though to the south. Easy to find that as it's just gold stones on the ground like iron ore. It can also be found below 200 ft I think.

Did you actually travel to an arctic island, or did you only find a tall mountain (covered by snow)? Tall mountains actually spawn on temperate islands (and at a certain elevation, they're covered by snow), but unfortunately you won't find aluminum there... it's only found on arctic islands (which are separate islands, always surrounded by water) ;)

On arctic islands, aluminum can be found mostly around the surface level. If you find a mountain in the arctic region, aluminum spawn rate is even a bit higher there ^^
Alternatively you can also find aluminum boulders on the surface in the arctic region (although they're a bit hard to spot because they're usually covered by snow).

can gold and aluminum still be found underground?

yes of course.

Aluminium = arctic biome

Gold = desert biome

This has had a somewhat negative side affect. I used to love climbing into the mountains to find aluminum (though I always found it lower too). But now there's not much reason to climb those mountains. Nothing up there to make the trip worth going for other than some nice vistas, so hope new things are added to make it worth going up there. Maybe gems or something could be in the higher elevations.

Ok thanks I think I’ve just found tall mountains with snow on top. Do you have specific co ordinates for the article biome islands? Are they offshore? I just traveled north and thought I had found them but was digging for ages, could not find any aluminium. Just need it so I can unlock other tools especially the drill and to start building again :steamhappy:

Currently searching for the Artic. Guess the only way is a boat!? Was hoping I could mine it on my starter island. Is there a point to mining anymore? (Other than enemies?) Seems most ores are biome specific and can be found above ground in respective biomes. So, why do we need to mine? 🤔
MustangMR Dec 24, 2024 @ 5:52am
Mining is still required. Surface ores will run out and you'll need to go lower to get more ore to build a worthy empire. There will probably be more resources added as well over time giving more reason to mine.

The game automatically spawns an arctic region due north of your starter island, and a desert region due south. You will need a boat to get there as it is too far to swim now that being cold and wet causes damage. A rowboat though will get you there in 10 or 15 minutes though, depending on where you start from.

One word of advice if you're not totally familiar with the game. If you row into a blizzard, turn around and try again later. It's a difficult survival challenge if you're not ready for it.

Ok thanks for the tip will build a boat and travel North, just wanted to make sure I was in the right location before hand, hopefully more clothes will be added to as others have said the fur coat doesn’t really help with the cold 🥶

Yeah. More cloths are needed and should come soon, at least one or two. The female model is making it a little more difficult to add clothes as more are needed now.

I'll let you have the fun of figuring out the blizzards. :) They're not instant death, but they are dangerous to be in now.

That's sad. I don't play Survival anymore but I was used to find aluminium on mountains.

I'm sure something else will come up to drive us up there. Lot of plans floating out there for new features. Something will show up.

Did you go into a cave? You can usually find ore along the sides. Look for the sparkles in the dark. Make yourself a mining hat so you can see all the time. Use torches or some of those 30000 stones to mark your way so you don't get lost. You'll find aluminum fast enough.

Red has also said that there are aluminum stones on the surface, but they're covered in ice. Go to an icy field and look at the stones with your mouse. It should say aluminum ore in the bottom left corner of your screen if it's an ore stone. Use your pickax to bust through the stone and harvest the ore.

Everyone is mentioning mountains but if you chose a more flat world spawn will there still be mountains somewheres in the world?
