Also be aware that too high values might crash the game, or cause you to get stuck in the loading screen (in that case just lower the values).

In the options you find two settings, "View distance" and "Detail distance". Buildings (i.e. Blocks, Constructions) are only visible in the "detail" area, so you can increase the detail distance to increase visibility of buildings (but it's quite resource hungry).
We are working on a solution, but unfortunately we have no ETA at the moment =/
