Machines, mechanisms and "electricity"
I've been following Rising World a bit already since it does look interesting, especially breaking with the 1m³ rule of most other building games (while not fully abandoning it the very same).

So I wanted to suggest that machines and mechanical systems should come into the game as well. Not to mention Minecraft too much but that would only be a fraction as popular as it is now if it weren't for Redstone and what you can build with it.

Something I'd suggest would be having machine parts with certain functions that can be combined with other parts to build vehicles and other devices. Stuff like engines, conveyor belts and the like.

A more important part though would be electricity and the ability to make circuits and logic systems. A way to handle those I'd suggest is being able to make circuit boards (2 dimensional) and circuit boxes (3 dimensional). When you crafted one and open it you essentially get a small subspace in which you can lay down wiring to build to logic system. Once down the circuit can be combined with a machine or several machines to control them.

If you'd be willing to go really deep into it programming could also go into it. Again some Minecraft mods allow you to outright program computers and robots to do certain things. Hell some even managed to program a simple 3D engine for in game.

Electricity will play a very big role in the future :) It will not only introduce different types of wires and sensors, but also things like programmable logic controllers. Unfortunately it will take some time until we can finally work on it, probably in late beta stage.

Can't say much about the "mechanical" part yet (at least when it comes to mechanical power sources, like windmills, or water wheels). We need an alternative for electricity, especially something that would fit into the medieval part of the game, too, but not sure how much we will go into detail there. However, electricity will definitely be the lion's share^^
