Rising World

Screenshots and videos with ReShade enabled
https://steamcommunity.com/id/WalterDasTrevas/screenshots

I posted some screenshots with ReShade enabled.
This settings (color, brightness and contrast) are my preference, I do not expect you to like it (probably you will consider it too dark).
I am sharing to the community to understand what ReShade is: A program that allows the application of over 60 different filters, among them Depth of Field, Ambient Occlusion, movie effects, 3D SBS, color tuning, masks, HDR, Motion Blur, etc.

There are resource-consuming effects, making it unfeasible for older computers, but some effects are very light and offer subtle alternatives to game appearance.
Until recently Rising World was not compatible with ReShade, but Red51 made it possible to use this tool loved by hardcore gamers.

How about the game performance?
Walter das Trevas Jun 14, 2018 @ 9:17am
It will depend on how many filters and the consumption of each filter.
My FPS without ReShade: 53
Combination of all filters: 39

As a test, my screenshots have these filters applied:

AmbientLight
MXAO
DOF
Curves
Levels
ReflectiveBumpMapping
MagicBloom:
Tonemap
FXAA
Clarity
LiftGammaGain
HQ4X
FakeHDR
LumaSharpen

Resource Consumption filters are:
ReflectiveBumpMapping
AmbientLight
MXAO (ambient occlusion)
DOF (depth of field)

It is possible to play 3D SBS with good FPS if you do not apply very heavy filters.

They're looking awesome, yet thought I'd help "future proof" this thread a bit by embedding the images so others can see the difference.

Sorry if this isn't what you wanted Walter, yet this clearly shows how awesome ReShade is for Rising World that I'm now in favour of wanting Rising World to have these filters :steammocking:

You're having a blast, and it looks so much more appealing with ReShade. It's still a great game, yet this gives it more colour; More lushness to the environment. Try more screens at day time as well without the weather.

Wow...
Walter das Trevas Jun 14, 2018 @ 11:52am
In the official forum it is possible to see the transition between the screenshots. :)
ArcticuKitsu Jun 14, 2018 @ 11:54am
Yeah, true. Steam can only embed 10 images that the main forums would be better indeed. Thanks Walter! You're doing awesome!

Tell me, how can I post a screenshot in a discussion?
You need to copy the thumbnail link in your screenshots gallery.

If I want to reply a specific comment, how can I copy the comment, posted in a new comment and say something in specific to the comment that I want to reply?

See those links in my posting that didn't get embedded? That's what you're supposed to copy from the image gallery in your steam profile. As for copying comments, just quote on the right side of another person's posting. There's a button for it.

Walter, you're no doubt the Dungeon Master of Rising World. What hardware are you running? I seriously doubt if my 960 could pull off some of that lighting in video 7
Walter das Trevas Jun 16, 2018 @ 5:58am
I have an i7 6700 and a GTX970.

There is an illusion in these videos, I am playing between 30 and 52 fps, but it is possible to believe that it is running at 60 FPS or more.

It happens because I record 15 seconds samples, moving the camera very slowly, then I accelerate (video editor) and transform into a 5 or 7 seconds loop. :)

Not to hijack Walter's thread, just that I fiddled with ReShade some more that I'm loving it. I enabled quite a few filters that you can get some nice tilt shifting, HDR, among other forms of amusement out of this that it also gets a strong "Stamp of Approval" from me as well.

I decided to test it out on my newly built 'Renge's Shrine' because I need a place to worship my lovely 15 cm tall foxy battle robot from the 'Busou Shinki' line based on the Inari messengers. With the mention of crop failure and diseases I believe I need Renge's blessing for my future crops to succeed with each yield. If puzzled just go Google/Wiki 'Inari', 'Fox shrine', & 'Kitsune'. This is also for July 1st festivities. :steamhappy:

- Experimenting with Tilt Shift Filter that it be best in city skyline areas:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1422881749

- Ascii filter is a fun one (more so when paired with other filters):
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1422882137

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1422896082

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1422882562

- Has a filter but barely noticable; Think TV monitor viewing filter:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1422882760

- Same filter as above:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1422882839

I seem to favour the HDR + Technicolour + Ascii, among a random few I already forgot the names of. I love taking pictures that this is making me feel at home that this actually nudging me to build something aimed directly at ReShade while also tapping into my love for cameras with VRchat, and such.

You know what would be awesome? Having a drone in game so you can remote fly it while getting those certain shots by also being able to rotate the camera angle with the drone. This suggestion with ReShade would be a blast!

ReShade is fun!

Which API would you recommend?

You need to use the native game API, in the Rising World case, OpenGL. ;)
Oh, I also recommend the new shader pack available by Marty McFly, "qUINT":
