This topic contains more information about how to enable the beta branch: https://steamcommunity.com/app/324080/discussions/0/3056237435828630015/

After enabling the beta branch, make sure to launch the game from the Steam library (otherwise Steam always launches the Java version unfortunately). This brings up a dialog where you can select "Play Rising World" (which launches the Java version), and "New Version" (which launches the new version accordingly) ;)

Where is properties and betas?

Rightclick on Rising World in your Steam library -> then select "Properties". This brings up a menu where you can select "Betas" at the top. There is a drop down list where you can select "unity - New Version Preview" (no need to enter a code), then just close the dialog after selecting this beta. The game should now have a small "[unity]" suffix in the Steam library and Steam should start downloading the additional game files.

Once the download is completed, you can launch the game through the Steam library (select "New Version" then to launch the new version, as mentioned above) ;)

Config.properties file?

No, there is no need to modify a file. As described in my post above, please just open your Steam client, go to the "Library" (where all your Steam games are listed) and rightclick on Rising World there. Select "Properties", go to the "Betas" tab and select the "unity -New Version Preview" beta to download the new version ^^

Alternatively you could wait until the new version is a bit more fleshed out, it will eventually replace the current Java version and launches automatically then when starting the game ;)
