A few thoughts about the hell layer....
Would it be sensible in thinking that Hell should be an actual biome in its own right? I was thinking there could be trees and plants etc for us to collect. Atm we have Hellstone to collect, and that's great! It just seems that these creatures (whatever they may be;) ) would feel a wee bit...detatched? Without a Landscape to live in. This is probably too complex, but it could have its own weird weather cycle and events, like in certain weather specific creature come out, and we can collect uncommon resources from them to create items which are needed to reach other areas of this Biome. :)

I think hell gets something like this. If i remember right hellhounds are announced

Yeah you're right Friend. I can't wait to see those! heehee!

I'm with you here Jimbob that Hell needs a similar treatment to Minecraft's Nether update. It was left alone for so long until Minecraft's nether gained fortresses, blazes, flaming slimes, and all that. Maybe something similar could be done with hell to have a lot of lava oceans be a thing to then have hellstone islands with hell castles with demons in them, or something. Dark Hell Elves, or something along those lines.

Hellhounds are indeed announced/confirmed.

Imagine finding hell oriented apples (Forbidden fruit) that can give you bonuses, as well as ill effects, to be both a blessing and a curse at the same time. If we ever gain skill trees and such maybe those apples can be used to increase those somehow.

I love where you're thinking, Jimbob :)

Thanks again Friend! I guess i just looove collecting junk. haaaaha! I'd like to see some kind of dark avriation of areas in the surface. Kind of like a Nightmare? That'd be intersting. So you come across some kind of area and go,"wait a sec! I've been here before!" Haaha!

I want the bright glow to be fixed on the hell layer, its so bad on my eyes I can't even do anything in that area.

The hell definitely needs a lot of work ^^ Currently it's more or less an "empty placeholder". Even the hell generation got messed up with one of the updates in the past (unfortunately we can't simply fix it now without converting old worlds)...

But we have a lot of plans for hell, and I'm sure it will be a pretty interesting part of the world in the end ;)

Can't wait for it!! ^^ Love the ideas!!!

Absolutely! We need a real reason to go down there. most of the high-end resources in the game should be there.....protected by things from our Nightmares. haaha!

I wonder if Red51 could implement an entity similar to the Angels in Dr. Who, yet more unique to hell and shadowy & gassy based. A black shadow with red eyes that would stalk you when it spots you that it would stand where it's at, yet when you look away it would move away.

Players could then probably work together to escape the gassy thing that it it tried heading upwards into the 'normal' underground it would die like an Enderman would to water.

------------

There's something I've been curious about is if we gain entities in the underground if I'd be A) More, or B) less scared to venture deep underground. Silence itself plays tricks on your brain because you expect something that it spooks you really good that it makes me wonder how entities shall play with your mind when venturing downwards. Hoping NPC companions would help out as mental/morale support.

Some really intersting ideas there Friend! ;) How about creatures who are attracted to the light? So when you hold a torch, they come toward you. You could only hold them at bay by placing torches and attacking them when they hover around the torch. haa!
ArcticuKitsu Feb 17, 2018 @ 1:08pm
YES! That needs to be a thing! Headlamps & torches, but it's bright down there anyways from lava. But yes, having them attracted to torches should be a fun thing, yet it needs to be coded in a way it can only register in hell, and has to be within a certain distance of any player :steammocking:

I would love more scary elements in the game like creatures or a darker atmosphere at night. Literally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ myself sorta thing.

Yeah Yang Xiao Long. I think that the Frozen Forests need something to spook you at night. This is a place associate with Ghost stories around a campfire! Haa!
