Ore Depth

Does anyone know an estimated depth of all the ores like gold, sulfur, mithril, etc?

I guess far beyond -300

Because hell is around -800

It depends, but my experience so far has been:
Iron-copper-tungsten-coal so far show up at every depth, including the surface and on mountainsides. I generally start finding silver at 200 and gold around 300 and sulfur at 600 and beyond. I have yet to find Mithril in the wild and have only gotten it from dungeon chests.

I've seen some mithril deposits at around 800. They ARE rare, tho.

The trouble is, ore depths are not, no pun intended, written in stone. There is a bit of crossover. You might find a particular ore higher of lower than the official depth depending on world generation but in general, the rarer, more valuable ores will be at lower depths. Of course, dungeon chests can give you rarer ores at much shallower depths.
