For cars use a plug in, for guns wait a bit more.

I can only imagine "steam punk" cars in Rising World.
Contemporary cars, at least to me, seem totally out of context.

What if we could have a "vehicle foundation" and build our own car/truck or something so that we are not limited to the style of the vehicles that are given to us? ;)

I would like to see Ore carts & tracks, so if you are deep down in a mine you can fill your cart and send it to the surface.

Cars are also planned for the game that you'll eventually see them roaming about. There's a Jeep that has been modeled (picture on Facebook), yet we'll have to wait for when vehicles are a focus to have them added. We first need horses & camels (maybe the update after this one) to work our way upwards.

As for guns, they'll be your basic survival oriented weaponry. No machine guns, nothing for the military. Just pistols, rifles, muskets, bows & arrows, various forms of crossbows, and etc.

Also, the game shall eventualy break off into two eras where you'll start off in Medieval Era from sticks and stones working your way into modern era with higher forms of technology.

As @ArcticKitsu mentioned, cars are actually planned, but I'm afraid it will still take some time until they're ready ;)
Guns are also planned (and even in the works), but there will be only some basic firearms, e.g. a musket, repeater etc (and of course some other ranged weapons, like a crossbow).

We are still not sure if players will be able to build their own cars. On the one hand, this would be an interesting feature. On the other hand, I'm afraid many people will only build unrealistic cars (e.g. a "driving cube", or a ridable wood plank) ^^ This doesn't matter in singleplayer, but could be annoying in multiplayer for some people.
In case this feature does not get implemented, cars will still be customizable ;)

Can you allow the plugin makers to do this? Can you give us some 'decorational' bits, such as a steering wheel, airship balloons, and such so plugin makers can do this on their own? You don't have to do this if you don't want to, just something to mirror Minecraft's 'Movecraft' plugin.

YES! Please do! Oh, please do! I suggested that 'Cargo tram', can we have that? If not, I'd be happy with whatever can transport us around, or even transport cargo at a decent speed.

Yes, the API will be capable of adding custom vehicles easily (at least once vehicles are implemented) ;)

If vehicles will be implemented, they will be definitely customizable to a certain degree: even if you can't create a custom vehicle from scratch, you will still be able to change certain parts of the car. Of course the API is capable of accessing these parts, but since custom models are already supported, they could easily add new car parts on their own (e.g. a steering wheel).

We're really not sure if we want to stick to pre-made vehicles, or fully customizable vehicles which are built from scratch. But even if we decide to implement pre-made vehicles, vehicles made out of consturction elements - for example - would still be possible through the API ;)

There will be passenger and freight trains (including "small trains" like minecarts), so there will be something similar to a "cargo tram", although I can't say whether or when "trams" will be implemented (at least if you're referring to trolley cars explicitly) ^^

I also keep repeating myself that I do hope that we can build the vehicles outside of the crafting stations where you'd need to place a chasis to then add various parts to them. From what you're saying it may follow partially with Subnautica & ETS2/ATS related customization. Changing the parts of the car shall be sweet.

Yeah, people can make very detailed stuff that it would also be interesting to see how they'd treat the API side of things. Seeing Rising World's version of 'Movecraft' would be interesting, yet in the end it's all up to you and the plugin makers. I'm just someone who plays :P

I remember you mentioned different sorts of trains with different fuel types. I'm looking forward to the variety. I do hope you add your own German trains (any era) into the mix.

As for the 'cargo tram' I mentioned, there's some interesting ones to choose from. There's one by Volvo that you could tweak to carry crates, and such. Storage chests, crates, crafting stations, and etc. A mobile storage & crafting center heh.

Two different gauges eh? That sounds awesome. I'd expect such for minecarts also. Looking forward to it because we need it, or some form of fast travel to carry cargo around.
