how long does it take to regrow a tree?

3 hours to see a young tree; 6 hours for a full tree. I hope that's correct....

Yup. This is why I play on SMP (Survival multiplayer) where tree times simply goes on even when you aren't there. If it's too much of an issue maybe we should keep the same timer, but have things like fertilizer (rotten food & etc) play a part in speeding up tree grow times.

No, you don't have to stay online all the time.

On the other hand, if you switch to Creative Mode, just press F6, then press i, and you can select the tree that you want to plant and plant as many as you want, and I usually come back to Suvirval Mode.

weird cause i started a game 3 days ago and the trees are still in their 1st phase

Yeah, you can log off and go to sleep, or do other "human" things :)

But 5-6 hours seems to be the max growth time for trees that a 6 hour play through should see them grow to the fullest.

I have a big tree farm now on my land. I demolished the house I had on the land when I built my castle. And the farm will only get bigger because I have so many saplings.
