Finding body after death.
I know that this topic was discussed few times before, but IMHO it is worth to talk about it again.

In my opinion dead body should be marked in visible way, or there should be arrow pointing there - helping where to go.
I know that some people will say that simplifies game.

Its not truth. It makes game less annoying.
Of course that its less realistic, but game should be fun, not boring. When you have to spent hours looking for body with all your items, or spend hours to make all items again - its not fun.

All top listed games where you die in open world, have mechanisms to find body quick.
Sometimes its not easy to get there - and recover everything, but you not loosing time on looking for it - specially when your kid took over computer for few minutes and died somewhere - in unknown location.

I absolutely agree. Other games I play are like that show nothing I have literaly spent 6 hours trying to find. BTW never did.

Actually there is a marker (a small red skull) on the map which shows the location where you died exactly ;) We're thinking about something like a 3d marker.

Alternatively you can check the "Keep inventory" box in settings -> misc, then you won't lose any items upon death

I had keep inventory on, and still lost everything.
Isn't that just for creative mode?

Do you play in singleplayer? These settings don't work in multiplayer (or more precisely, in multiplayer these settings are set by the server admin). But they apply both in survival as well as in creative mode.

I play only in single player mode, sometimes I was clicking "open for lan" but no other players and no other server with another admin.

Does it work with new maps? I died with a map, but before I did I saw where i was. I was luckily close to home, after trying to find a destroyed house. I died in a cave. But there are so many caves near my house that it would take so many real life days. Also do stuff despawn when you die?

You really should patch the game to enable the "keep inventory" by default, so players don't complain about that, I highly doubt anyone will want to lose everything on death

I disagree. No one I know thinks you should keep inventory in death in any game - otherwise it defeats the whole purpose of being able to die to begin with. It's not difficult to select it if you so choose.

I take it a step further and actually use self enforced permadeath on my single player worlds. It keeps things so much more interesting because you're always being careful. Then again I started playing games in the 80's when 'permadeath' was the default - it didn't even have that stupid name back then because pretty much every game when you died you died and that was it.

In honesty I don't like the idea that much. Yes I've died LOTS of times but when I know I'm going out to find valuables then I carry the least with me and TRY TO SURVIVE ANYWAY POSSIBLE.
You're right that it would defeat the purpose of the game. Therefore I don't like it. I don't even use the map when I die - maybe I'm good with remembering turn left at rock number 3 and turn right at willow number 7 ... ? I just try my best to follow steps and look for things that look very familiar. It has NEVER let me down.

Please don't make the game TOO easy ... :(

Sorry guys.

I'm against it, too. I think survival needs to be challenging.
Providing the "alternative" option to "not lose loot" is fair, but turning native survival into "papaya with honey" destroys the game context.

IMHO some people should learn the difference between words:
Simulation and Survival.

Rising World is survival game, not simulation.
That means the game don't need to be exactly like real life - specially when it can bore players.
Making simple tools again and again, every time after death may result only in abandoning the play.
It doesn't make play more difficult, it makes game more annoying.

What they are saying is have the option to have these turned on, but have them off by default. They are aware this is survival and not simulation but it means different things to different people. Survival to me means lose things on death, not have my hand held and a map full of go here markers and I have to work to survive.

It makes the game more survival as then dying has a real consequence and you try your hardest to stay alive not have a quick teleport home.

You have to craft the map. For that you need the paper press. You can make paper from cotton or hemp fibers and water. To add water, fill your bucket, then have it in your hand. Walk up to the press and dump water into it after adding the fibers. Then activate the press and viola, you have paper to make your map with.

I've never lost anything after enabling the "keep inventory" option. If you are playing online, the server needs to allow this.
