elevator
Is there any chance of an elevator in the game any time? I know there is a plugin, but because it was made in 2016, and most of the comments on the page it's on are in German, I don't know if/when it will be updated.

Would be very nice to be able to install one in my shaft that goes all the way down to hell.

It may actually work. I'm using some plugins I had to translate using Google. Maybe I'll try it later as a majority of plugins still work even old ones.
I think I'll try it.
The older elevator plugin is outdated so it won't work properly, or so noted. If someone can tackle an elevator plugin that be awesome, and they'll gain my respect. Would love to make buildings adding in elevators, and even into mineshafts because I also have to use ladders to get down depths.

Wish the vanilla elevators shall work like the ones in Conan Exiles where you set up two points and it'll allow you to travel between those two points realistically.

Someone may have to update the older one or just make a new one all together. It's doable. Someone has to bite the bullet.
How do you guys make a shaft without getting stuck at the bottom?
Try your best to dig two "blocks" worth of stone... One for you, one for the hole. Make TONS of long ladders (mostly from wood), get curved blocks and try and make a sewer tunnel heading down. Leave open spaces every so often to dig out caverns and such. As you go down you place ladders then you snap the ladder under the one above you. Keep doing this until you get deeper.

Similar to Minecraft, don't dig straight down. Be insanely cautious. Don't be afraid to even sit on a ladder as you dig down. Use CTRL to move down ladder cautiously.

I haven't worked up the nerve to try any of the nearly vertical shafts I've come across. Getting down is easy but... anyway yeah I carry a bunch of ladders and you can place those above and remove them below you (or just leave them) so that is one way. I've also cut ramps to get around vertical shafts blocking a horizontal tunnel, and longer spiraling ramps to descend. What would be cool is being able to secure a line at the top and climb back up it.
Yes Markbnj, I want ropes too. Maybe in the future we will get them and also to be able to fish from BOATS. Hint, Hint Red
Added one sentence in my previous posting having assumed I mentioned it earlier. The whole snapping of ladders when you're on the lower end of it.

And yeah, can't wait for ropes and fishing with nets on boats. Shall be awesome. Even fishing from boats shall be awesome.

:( I guess I’m more of a visual person because I don’t get it.... oh well at least I can keep digging my long sloping tunnels.
- Make a ton of long wooden ladders (a nice amount of them; Flood your inventory with them, but make sure you have room for your necessary items & mining needs)
- Go to block bench and find rounded sloped blocks so you can apply your ladders to something. Pick any block texture/ID you want.
- Pick a spot then start placing the sloped blocks in a circle (as you would find a rounded sewer system.
- Start digging down making sure you dig down at least two columns of voxels (as you would blocks in Minecraft) so you have one part to stand on, another part to dig down to jump between them.
- Make sure you hold 'CTRL' on your keyboard so you can descend down the ladder.
- Continue to place blocks to support the ladder system as you descend further down into the depths, but make sure your first ladder reaches the tip of the top blocks while the bottom is where you are standing in your hole. Your first ladder counts the most because it'll allow other ladders to snap onto them.

- Apply the second ladder once you see the bottom of the first ladder.

- Keep applying ladders when you see the bottom of each ladder by snapping them onto each ladder.

- Be extremely cautious as to not dig straight down viciously or else you'll either A) End up in a rough tunnel system, or B) Hell.

You have to give me a while to share images, but I do hope this helps.

I never played Minecraft......

so you didn´t understand the instruction by Arcitcu?

Its really easy. Just dig down a straight shaft to hell.

Use the block bench to craft a quarter circle block (sloped block) in any texture you desire

Set these blocks around you while digging down

Use ladders (craftable at saw bench) and apply to the blocks you crafted.

That way you dig a straight shaft down to hell but can get out again quite easily.
I think I might get it, guess I won’t know until I get on and try it.
I built a vertical mine shaft all the way to hell. I just used lots of ladders and dug from the ladders. I do have a few outlets to the "outside" of the shaft. And, I used square blocks to line the shaft. Makes things easier to get down. But, an elevator would be so much easier.
