Lake Seeds
Ever sense the new update, I have been looking for the seed "Dimension" and it seems to not be the right seed anymore. It was a seed with stone and forest hills, and then you would travel to about -3000 or -3000 and got to a big lake with stone hills, water below. Some of them had maple trees, and others just by foresty areas. If you have any seed suggestions that sound like that one, please let me know! :) I have also tried " FallingWater" "Lake'' and "'Ocean" seeds too. Oh and I've tried "Australia" and it was similar.

Someone recommended "deep valley" ... I tried it and was nice, starting at a large lake.
Oh cool I will try that one! I love the water life! :)

I tend to use my cats' names and other silly things for seeds. Here are two recent ones. Don't include the quotation marks:

"Mr Milo" This spawned me on a lake shore with my toes nearly touching the water. There are iron and bits of coal among the big rocks, so starting is fairly easy. Just run up to the top of the bluff and rake yourself a nice flat area for your first camp.

"HotelCalifornia" Spawn was in the grassy strip that's next to the ocean. You'll see the palms close by. It only takes a second to run over there.

Thank you Moonstone! I am going to try that one too! That's a great idea, I will try different names, and pets names too hehe. I do that a lot anyway. :D
If anyone is interested, try the seed "Eclipseamongo" it is really pretty, with a lot of water, stone and forest areas, with some islands! :) That's one of the ones that I am going to build on!

Ok, I play single player, when I create a world by start terrain demographics. I do see "seed' numbers, but never named ones. Where are they? Do I just hitting next until it runs out of numbers?

If you're creating a world by start terrain, you won't be changing the seed numbers. The game chooses for you. If using seed numbers, the game generates a new number whenever you want to create a new world. Again it's automatic.

If you'd like to try out your own seeds, erase the numbers that you see in the seed window and type in whatever word/words you want to use. The game itself will internally translate it to numbers, so don't worry about that. Type the same word/words in the world name space so you'll recognize it later on your game list. (You can also use caps and spaces in the words if you wish.)

There have been a number of threads in which players have shared their favorite seeds, or seeds that have spawned them into a particular terrain.

Hi,
In the seed box just delete the numbers and type in any text or numbers you want.

I have tried the suggested seeds but only a few work I have noticed! The closest I came to my old world was a different seed than it used to be! :) Also some of the suggested seeds, still have a default seed like the random ones.

That's strange. I don't understand what you mean when you say suggested seeds still have default seeds like random. Do you mean that the random numbers don't get erased when you enter a new name?

I just tested a new seed: LlamaSwami. It spawned me between ocean and mountains. I did some building just in case that would be an issue. Then deleted it and erased the seed name when the create new world screen came up. I entered it again and it spawned me in the same spot. Are you maybe deleting some of the elements like dungeons or caves, etc? All of my worlds have everything included. Eliminating something would change the world that you're trying to create.

I am Sorry if I miss understand your problem but you are entering the suggested seeds like
Lake
Australia
in the second box that is labelled ' Seed: ' ?
The top box will not alter the world generation it is just the File Name of the Map.

The seed Australia works, but when I try the other seeds that were suggested from people, then it usually doesn't spawn me in that seed! sorry if I confused you hehe. Thank you Lindsay and all for your help! yeah I just started using random names and numbers in the box that says seeds. :)

I forgot to mention that I do delete the Ore and caves sometimes, but not all the time. I will make sure that they are in this time! I thought about that too. :) Most of the time I do leave them in though. I just tried it, and left everything at default except on creative mode, and I didn't land in the right seed so weird. Like I said before, this exact seed name worked before the update. I will just keep messing around with it, until I find it. :)

I'm sorry my seeds didn't work. Since Australia works for you, maybe it's my fault. I have many worlds that I go between so maybe I'm not remembering the exact spawn point correctly. But at least you've got some others that do and that's what counts. :)
Very true! yeah the one that I am looking for had stone , on the edge of a forest, with water down below! I wonder if the words "StoneForest" would take me there. :D
