Complex crafting system
Maybe we could talk more about how the crafting system will work in the next Rising World game.

Because we will get dynamic water, other kind of liquids could also be added.
I would like to see the melted iron or alloys flowing from the furnace into molds to create various components.
And the furnace I would like to be able to build it myself using blocks, instead of getting it as a standard item which I have to place it down.

Collecting petroleum and natural gas could also take advantage of the dynamic fluid simulation.

I think we are yet some time away from flowing water. Even with v the new version. And when it arrives i doubt it's much different from water in minecraft.

Maybe more different furnaces are an Option. Even with an animation, which then could simulate molten metal flowing somewhere

The roadmap to pretty much all current building games to make them change dramatically for the improved future (in my opinion) is seen in water mod in Medieval Engineering.

if a game like this can pull that off well and solid...holy mother of god...
in my opinion

i have just asked if there is a way to add water, in minecraft if you delete a block the water spreads to that gap but it doesnt on this game, that is why i was asking if there was a way we could get it to fill in the gaps you make from around the small like pools

so for references to water in voxel games I would take a look at 7 days to die, Medieval Engineering water mod and From the Depths.

My basic understanding is that its not easy...but it is possible. The largest challegne being in dynamic water that moves according to builds but again...it is possibe but hard from my understanding

Complex Crafting? a wonderful idea - to actually craft the tools and equipment needed [at least in Survival Mode]. However, I get the sense from Red's posts that it is not in the works for now. There will be new and revised crafting tables, but I doubt we'll see much in the way of complex crafting.

Hopefully though, we will see it in the future ...

It's not impossible but may have to be toggled as an option. Dynamic water would require quite a high end computer to process. To have it as standard, it would make the game unplayable for anyone with a medium to low end computer.

As for crafting, I'd love to see more complex crafting system. Maybe not as complex as Wurm Unlimited/Online but something more than chopping down a tree and instamagically making a plank wall from the wood. Maybe something like chop a tree down, take it to the sawbench and make planks to then take it to the blockbench and make wooden blocks fom it. a Handsaw would be a nice addition to make planks etc a bit more slowly than the sawbench would.

actually i had the same thought lately. i am so much used to the plugin planks and beams that i forget there is actually a work bench for it.
currently you chop a tree, chop that log into pieces, pick them up and then carry them to the sawbench, cutting the log pieces into wood pieces and those you process into planks.

for me thats enough complexity :)

the only thing we need now is a work bench for all the planks and beams with other textures than wood.

I am not sure I know why are you playing this game in the first place.

I mean dont you see this game primarly as a crafting and building game? but regardless speaking personally I am look for very deep crafting games, make it similar challeges in that respect to real life.

well on the water I think it just depends on how 'dynamic' they want to make it.
What I would do if I was the developer is to stick to it being static. So for example you could not remove a block that is attached to a lake. That way you could build boats. and I mean BOATS. like to your exact desire, to live in, to hunt the great whale or something.
the water mod for medievel engineers does that and its friggin awesome

Why do you react like that? Of course Rising World is for me a building game. I put almost 1400 hours in it and 98% of it purely building.

But i don´t see the need for what was suggested with having molten iron run from one place to another. Neither the need to drag a log from one place to another if i already have to chop it where it falls down. We already have quite indepth crafting.

Rising World is as close to RL as you get with this combinations of possibilities. Maybe in a few years there will be more possibilities though

Before you misunderstand me as well... I don't insist on my point of view. The game will be whatever red51 makes of it. And it will be my decision if i like or at least accept it and keep playing or if i don't like it and stop playing.

Rising World won't be a pure crafting and building game. It's going to be one third building, survival and adventure

Someone looking for pure building will be just as disappointed as someone who wants pure survival or pure rpg adventure.

The process to craft planks is quite indepth already. At some point you have to accept its a game, not RL.

In forest you have to carry logs but there's other things That are not as good as in rw.

In my opinion it's good as it is. After all must people want to have entertainment, not a struggle to get somewhere.

I do not want it to be so complicated that people to say it is tedious or grinding.
In the end would be cool to be able to automate everything somehow, to avoid moving blocks from chests to chests. If that automation happens with NPCs would be even better for me.
I would have the reason to search and to hire them and then to care for their safety or to build houses for them.

Now that would be awesome :)

Prisoners in dungeons and bandit camps, who you can save, but you have to escort them back to your village/castle/base instead of them just spawning at your tent. That would be interesting. :)

personally I would not like that at all.
I would like to build a sea life like in the movie Master and Commader as an example but be hunting whales instead of ships.
personally
