Nvidia driver requirement
After today's update game requires minimum 572.60 for launch. The problem is that it causes black screens for most of latest nvidia cards, versions 65 and 70 didnt fix anything so i didn't even update from my 572.42, and I'm fine with not playing gta until they fix it.
Anyway the whole idea of forcing driver requirement is real BS from Rockstar, don't you think?

Pretty annoyed that they're trying to force people to use a driver that MANY have come out to say is a faulty driver. Nvidia's been pumping out meh drivers for a while now. A new 4080 and rig should not be crashing playing fortnite lmao especially when it was fine earlier.

The Great Fire of Rome was a precursor to the downfall of the Roman Empire and Fortnite is the precursor to the great decline of western society.

Fortnite should crash every player's PC, it has done it's absolute best to brainrot an entire generation and make 10 cent memes last for years.

GTA V makes fun of modern western brainrot, Fortnite embraces it and brainwashes children into idolizing it.

I mean, fair. Game should still work on a fairly high-end card/setup. Shouldn't be pushing out faulty drivers and then forcing your userbase to use em.

i known that i’m a special little portion of people that don’t have a strong gaming pc but i have a GTX 1060 6GB, i know it’s not the best for gaming at all but this forced update makes my graphics card got into a infinite black screen loop after update. even doing a driver rollback and DDU cleaning i was not able to fix it anymore. I had to wipe out my drive and install windows again to keep it working.

please rockstar don’t kill the old ones that don’t have money to afford a new GPU

Wait do you actually have to use that driver to play or does it just say "hey there's a new driver, you should get it" but let's you still play? I don't mind getting told there's a new driver, but I DO mind when overzealous and uninformed game devs force me to update my system to buggy drivers just because they're new. I just rolled back from 572.70 because it was absolutely busted and it's just by chance I am on .60. I'd be furious if I rolled back to something older and the game forced me to update. Don't do that Rockstar.
Just update to the latest game ready or studio drivers and you won't have any problems.

Rolling back or using old drivers will only further your problems. This isn't AMD where they reduce your performance through driver updates to make their new GPU's look better, like they did for the RX590 8GB with the 2020 Adrenaline update killing MSAA performance from X8 to X2 for the same FPS.

It's only tries to force you once but after that it let me in just fine... I only update when I need too and I been hearing issues with drivers after the 50 series RTX cards came out...

I mean that is NVIDIA not Rockstr many game engines when you update them require it and a ton of the issues people report are fixed by updating their drivers so it makes sense to make it required before their tech support spends 10 hours on your problem just for you to go "what you talking about I upgraded my drives like 2 years ago!" Its like oh that is the problem then...

The real issue is people buy the LATEST cards and go "huh look at that driver issues just like THEY ALWAYS Got with brand new released cards... its teh game devs fault!" Meanwhile over here going "I might get that card IN A FEW MONTHS maybe when bugs are out the damn drivers I could use a new one..." Like I learned this lesson YEARS ago lol

♥♥♥♥ what was it I think BF 4 that had this on it first time I ever had issues I just got a brand new GPU to play it, and Nvidia was like "nah son you need the beta drivers the public release ones gonna crash your ♥♥♥♥!" And BF was like "You don't got right version! PLEASE GET RIGHT ONE!" lol

I mean I learned this lesson 12 years ago lol, and every new gen of NVIDIA you guys act like bad drivers were never heard of before on their next gen cards after launch. Its like really? REALLY where you been last decade? Its oh its their first new GPU instead of last years model bless their hearts.

the card before the 4090 was a 1660 super and i never did a update and it is still allive..all other nvidia cards i did updates for are broken within 3 years. my 4090 became a update by the pc shop before i got the pc. i almost never had issue with games and no one of them was a driver problem. The first problem for broken Gpu is here may be with..dust but i also do not trust Gpu drivers for getting a few % more performance.

Anyway the whole idea of forcing driver requirement is real BS from Rockstar, don't you think?

It's not really BS if it's because nVidia added proper support for GTA V Enhanced in 572.70

What is BS is that they are recommending an even older driver than that for whatever reason
(not to speak of the black screen/Bsod issues these drivers have on the RTX-5000 series).

They should really be recommending version 572.75 (Hotfix) for now,
to avoid all of these issues.

Here's a link to the 572.75 Hotfix driver so people here on the forums can find it at-least:

I uninstalled GeForce Experience and it runs at over 100FPS and looks great right out of the box on an Intel Machine.
I run 2 or 3 Gamers at a time and deal with a lot of 3rd party software and setting up HOTASs and Wheels and peddles and crap.
No more GHUB, or GeForce Experience, they are Machine Killers in my book and just cause problems.
If your are running an RTX in any configuration, I'd bet if you are running GeForce Experience it will run better without it. Use the settings within the games themselves or the default software onboard.
That has been my experience so far.
