At least, those are options currently available to gta5 legacy.
Remains to be seen for enhanced, but I'd bet is same/similar.
Do as above, disable BattlEye in the Rockstar Launcher, single player works fine. To remove BattlEye, do an SC Stop "BEService" from an elevated command prompt, followed by SC Delete "BEService". Then delete BattlEye folder from C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local, and delete it from steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced. Test single player out.
The OP was in fact asking about playing GTA5 story mode, not Online. Similarly, R* doesn't care if you use mods in single player, you're not harming anyone.
'Online' - is a different story.
R* gives you the option to disable it in the R* launcher, and even tell you about it -

Commandline.txt is also something they've provided for legacy for years -

Deleting the files.. that aren't in use - /shrug - people are playing storymode.

Okay. I wasn't sure because Battle Eye is for online play.
Because it's a switch which does the same as unchecking battleye pretty much.
whichever way you do it, Battleye will be disabled until you remove the command or check the box in the launcher.
I made no reference to -nobattleye, or that it was in the command options list. It was about 'editing' game files - commandline.txt, and disabling battleye. Yes, the vast majority of their help links are awful.
"When does BattlEye need to be running? BattlEye only needs to be active during online play sessions, such as when playing GTA Online. Depending on your platform (Rockstar Games Launcher, Epic, Steam), you can change the setting or launch option to disable BattlEye for Story Mode."

My first post was the actual 'useful' info - posted before enhanced was released...
We now know it is gtav_enhanced_be.exe too. Whatever. Always something.
