Crashing on Nar Shadaa

Can't get past this level because the game crashes.
I've tried http://steamcommunity.com/app/32400/discussions/0/648814213898192298/ fix, I get up to the step of making a shortcut for the game and it just doesn't let me.

I've been Googling a fix of this game for a month now at this point and that's the only thing I can find.

Sorry, actually I will play Dark Forces again, by first time in Windows 10. Maybe I will have the same problem than you... I don't know. If so... I will try find a solution... In any case, it will take time until reach Nar Shaddaa

I haven't reach NAr shadda yet. Today I finished the 4th mission, but you could try to just verify the integrity of your cache game. If that dosen't work... I will see if I can say something more after reach Nar Shadda.

Well today I played and finished correctly Nar Shaddaa. At this point I can't only suggest you to replace the config file with this info:

fullscreen=true
output=ddraw

[cpu]
cycles=20000

mount c "game"
c:\
dark.exe
exit

Is the unique change that I made due to avoid blue particles when taking ammo from the ground, with lucky you could open Nar Shaddaa with this configurartion. If not... I really suggest you Check your Integrity of the cache game, and if nothing of that works, you should delate the game and install it again.

I experience the same issue. Though you can finish the level quickly with the shortcut I would like to complete the level in the intended way.

Edit: Well, your linked thread with the idea of disabling the music is at least something. Though with no sound the game gets even more harder.

I think the issue is indeed sound related because I beat the level with no sound, but it kept crashing with it. You can just re-enable the sound after you are done with that level.

It's a bug in DarkXL. You need to use donrevan's fix. It's available at the following link, Step #4:

I used it and completed the game last year... but be aware that there are a few more bugs and you'll need to do a few workarounds. The following will guide you through it:
