Jedi Knight Remastered muzzle flash

Are there any tech guru's here that know if there's a way to increase the brightness without getting the muzzle flash bug? Some levels are very difficult to play with the brightness set to 0.

I saw this mentioned in another thread that's a year old. I flipped a coin and made a new thread instead of bumping an old one....

I turn monitor brightness up, and in nvidia control panel set digital vibrance to like 80%
