Why Exactly Do we all hate Manaan

I have concluded that manaan is my least favorite planet and this reigns true for many other kotor players but why exactly do we all hate it so much

I think I don't like it because the Selkath sound kind of weird. But that doesn't really mean it's bad however when compared to the other planets it is probably the worst one. It is still better than Peragus, Korriban, and Telos in Kotor 2.

It's been a long time since I palyed but I could have sworn that was right. How do you go about not getting kicked of then?

I just finished the game and was not kicked. I believe the way to get kicked is if you take a particular action in the last quest (see below) -- per one of the walkthroughs I was *cough* occasionally consulting.

SPOILER -- How to Get Kicked
If you poison the shark rather than explode the machinery you will be kicked I believe as the Selkath consider it one of their ancestors and responsible for the abundance of Koto (drawing a blank here). -- the healing plant.

Otherwise I truly enjoyed the planet and the rational/pragmatic-driven nature of the Selkath. This also made the more emotionally oriented Selkath in a couple quests seem special as well, those who didn't think neutralty was especially a good thing.

Even the judges were interesting in their bias -- if you question them -- for or against the Republic and therefore Surry. I also found the events on this planet most revealing about The Republic and its failings.

Lastly, slow motion in the diving suit added some realism and errieness to the environment, in my opinion, and helped offset the distraction of sharks dying and floating to the "top" 3 feet above my head. I think the underwater part of the game, including the station, could have been made more suspenseful -- perhaps dialog/events with crazed creatures -- or the creatures more challenging is all.

I personally loved Kashyyk that place was rather fun for me but Manaan was sort of annoying at parts especially at the end of the quests there. The quests that are there though tend to be rather fun until the blasted underwater thing.

I liked Manaan. It was not my favorite planet but it cetainly was not the worst one.

I understand why others might hate it. For example, The Underwater mission. Personally, I liked it, even though it was ridiculously slow. But I think it was necessary to create a convincing atmosphere.

Otherwise, the scenery of the planet is very attractive, the missions are fun(for example, The Sith Base), and even though the Selkath can be real bastards sometimes, personally, they were the most original race.

I actually managed to get into an endless loop since I broke into the Sith's hanger early and you get arrested
if you don't find out about the missing Selkath, no matter what you do, you die

I liked it. It had a lot of different missions. Loved doing the Sunry Murder Trial. Kashyyk on the other hand...

I love Manaan,especially the music. The planet left a lasting impression on me unlike any other game (except the Citadel in the mass effect series).

I usually go to Manaan as my third planet, but I think that it is beautiful even if the stupid natives are netural.

Manaan, I like the storyline that it presents. The layout and look of the place left me wanting more. Everything looks the same so it's hard for me to keep track of where everything is. Is it in the East wing or the West wing? Or is in that area between them?

I did like how more of the side quests tied more easily into the main quest. Instead of having you run all over the place like the ones on Taris did.

Taris takes the cake as the one I hate the most in KOTOR, but I wouldn't get a mod to skip it just because I find the main part so interesting. I just don't like it because you spend a good chunk of the game on the introduction to the story. They could have streamlined the quests a lot better than they did, and I do think they learned from their mistakes with most of the planets in KOTOR II.

But I agree, Manaan is not the worst of the planets. I'd definitely put it above KOTOR II's Nar Shardaa, because you know what to do to progress on Manaan whereas Nar Shardaa it's really easy to place yourself where you aren't evil enough to gain the respect of the Exchange but aren't nice enough to be a thorn in their side either and get stuck since you need to achieve that status to complete the planet.

I personally go to Manaan last. That way it doesn't matter if I get prohibited from going there again, I'm off to the end game afterward. And by then, I've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ enough through Jolee's side quest that his has triggered. Having to pay each time you go to the planet is a real pain.

Man I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loved Manaan, the sidequests there were fantastic. I also loved how creepy the underwater base was, the selkath going insane and killing everyone was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AWESOME.
