Opinion on SW:TOR

I'm thinking of giving it a go with some friends. Is it worth playing, how much from SWTOR is in the game?

Worth playing for the story, not worth a penny if you think about pouring money into it. PvP wise, it is total ♥♥♥♥. You need to buy the DLC to get the extra five levels to get PvP gear now. I have the DLC and am a sub, but I won't be renewing as they are trying too hard to make up their losses and are making it hard on the F2P players.

I'd say try it out as F2P first. That way you can see for yourself if you (and your friends) want to stick with it. I'd say there is some story continuation going on. Without spoiling anything, there are some flashpoints that tie in to KOTOR 1 and 2. Aside from that it's a continuation of the universe itself, and there are some references to KOTOR (statues on Corelia etc). If your looking for an experience similar to KOTOR, it's worth it to play through the different class stories, and not bother with endgame content. Whether or not you want to pay to see just the class content is up to you. My personal favourite is the Imperial Agent storyline.

Imperial Agent is awesome, even though mine is only level 22 and I lost motivation to play on it. :c

it's really not a bad game story wise.

The story is quite good, but the gamepaly overall is quite boring.
* Once you finish the story, there was no urge for me to continue playing the game.

Classes are still the same old, " DPS / Tank / Healer"... yeah kinda boring really.
* Played a Bounty Hunter - DPS
* Played a Sith Inquisator - Healer

Bounty Hunter story is not bad.

I've played the game since launch. The story is really is good and not the same for every class. If you love open world pvp on the other hand, its not that good. But for story and PvE wise its a great game.

Sinse it went F2P it is not worth it. I played it till it went F2P and then quit. All the normal features of an MMO (hide helmet...) you have to PAY to unlock, even as a sub.

TLDR: They got greedy, dont play it. (yes I know it was 2 lines, didnt need a TLDR I just like putting them)

Completely untrue. For F2P yes, sub no.
