Swoop Racing
Is it just me, or does it seem like the Tatooine swoop racing tournament is really difficult to beat? My computer lags some when playing it, but I don't think that would cause me to fail every single time.

Tatooine is pretty close to impossible to finish all the way for me as well, unless you are shooting for some personal goal, I suggest skipping Tatooine Swoop Racing.

I just attempted the Tatooine swoop race and I finished the first two rounds. I can't seem to finish the last race.

I use to until the last time i played. I was able to beat all the swoop tracks. Just keep practicing and save before you do so you dont lose credits. You basically have to hit 9/10 speed boosts and shift at the perfect time else you actually slow from im proper shifting and dont hit any obstacles.

All time favorite game but I always thought it was too hard but for replay value I tried again and found it doable.

Its pretty difficult but thats what makes it fun :D

I found it pretty funny when I got to the swoop races on tatooine, I was thinking to myself how the hell did I win the races when I was a kid as I was finding it hard and fustrating, I was like gawd I must of raged a lot.. I guess all that mario kart on the nintendos really helped lul :p
lol it made me some fun i beat it the first time -.-

Thanks, I'll just keep trying at it.

I'm attempting the second tier for Tatooine and it's frustrating me trying to beat 23:29. I'm still trying to understand the basics of shifting. Can you get a boost before the light turns green at the beginning of a race?

I'm not sure, I just ignored the racing and continued witht the story. It's much better that way.

Tatooine is definitely the hardest, but achievable.

[PC Workaround]

For anyone still struggling to win the race I had an idea and it worked perfect. The solution is to use Cheat Engine to lower the game speed, so you run the game in slow motion! This way makes really easy to hit the booster pads and it is less likely to miss them.

Here is the guide:

- Download and install Cheat Engine (www.cheatengine.org/)
- Open Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Start the race and pause the game at the very first light signal (ESC key)
- Press Alt + Tab to switch Windows desktop and open Cheat Engine
- Click on the icon under "File" and to open a process and select swkotor.exe
- Check "Enable Speedhack" box and set speed to 0.2. Then hit the "Apply" button. This will reduce game speed by 80%
- Return to the game by Alt + Tab or clicking the minimized window
- Resume the game. Be prepared before the third light turns on. Tap left-mouse button so you can start exactly at the moment the last light turns on.
- Make your best effort. I finished at 22:03 with this trick
- Enjoy

I believe it would even be possible to change the time limit by scanning the memory and changing the values, but you need to know what to look for. There is also a mod claming to change the track so you only have to go straight, yet I have not tested it. Download at your own risk http://www.starwarsknights.com/minigamestsl.php

I do not like cheating on games or anything but this race was really frustrating and was not making the game enjoyable (which makes me difficult to stick with the Jedi code: There is no emotion, there is peace).

Here there are screen captures: http://imgur.com/a/HP2TE

I hope this guide helps other Padawans. May the force be with you.

You think Tatooine is hard, try Manaan the only way to beat it is to go through all the boosters. All of them.....

I still think Tatooine has a cliff for difficulty curve in swoop racing. You do fine in the first race, but it's the next few that really frustrate you. Manaan was not that difficult (in my memory that is).

Are we talking about the same game? Not a mod or anything? Just wondering because I just beat tatooine swoop with minimal effort. No pratice runs and nailed all three heats on first go. I didnt crash and hit mostly all of the boosters with good shift times on all 3.

Not trying to hurt your feelings but yeah I got it no problem, just being honet.

Tatooine and Manaan races are doable. It just requires a lot of patience and practice.
