Stopping screen stretching?
How do I stop the game from streching the display to fit widescreen? I'd much rather have the black bars at the side but I can't find any settings anywhere to disable the stretching.

hmm interesting, I can't get mine to stretch lol
Try right clicking on the exe and going into properties and then tell it to run in a lower resolution.
Alternatively I think you can change it in the SWKOTOR menu, go into settings/options and I think it's display or something and change the resolution there.
It shouldn't be too hard to find, if it doesn't work I'm stumped.

Either use the widescreen gaming fix to allow the game to run at higher resolutions, or change the settings in your graphics card's controlling software. It's an option called 'image scaling' and select 'maintain aspect ratio'. Just look around the options settings in Catalyst/nVidia Control Pannel or whichever controlling software you have...

Got it now, thank you. I was looking for the wrong setting!

Also to add to this, the option I needed to change was the "Perform Scaling On" drop down box. It needed to have GPU selected there.

After seeing this, I looked up the widescreen gaming fix, and I'm experiencing a lot of mouse lag. Is this normal, or did I do something wrong?

itsJusQ,
Suffice to say that the only problem that I had after installing the widescreen patch was that the movies didn't work. I got them to work after following the instructions that addressed the issue. I don't think that mouse lag is normal. Just to make sure, but you also installed the right hud patch as well?

The only suggestion that I have is to disable/enable the hardware mouse option and see if that makes any difference. Failing that, search Google and see if someone else has reported the same issue.

I had searched Google before I posted here. The only suggestions were to disable some of the things in the graphics options that I already disabled. I undid all of the WSF stuff and used the magical "Verify File Integrity" button and it's working smoothly. I still have all of the stuff for WSF, so I will try again tonight to see if the same thing happens and report back.

P.S. Yes, I did install the HUD patch.

I reapplied the patch, and the HUD mod, and it's working smooth as silk. The only difference between last night and tonight is that I didn't need the directions after having done it already, so the process went faster. However, I did all the steps in the same order and this time it worked fine. Puzzling. Thank you, though, for your response. I deeply appreciate your helpfulness.
