Movement with the keyboard suddenly stops working

It happens sometimes when I loot a person i killed and it is very annoying. However, when I start the game again, the work again until I loot somebody. Anybody else having this problem? What should I do?

Yeah it's happening to me too. It doesn't happen every time I loot, but it also happens when I use a medpac. I just make a save, and then load it, and it starts working again. Game's like 10 years old, figured there would be some problems running it.

found a fix for it. It's weird, but turn on vsync. Searched the bioware forums and this worked for them. Since I turned vsync on, I haven't had any issues.

I had the same issue. After engaging an enemy, moving with keyboard (W,A,S,D) suddenly stopped working. It's really frustrating. I'm already tired of saving and reloading and have stopped playing all together. I will try the Vsync trick tomorrow. Valve, please try to fix this annoying bug!

That isn't Valve's job.
Also the vsync trick usually works. If not you can simply quicksave/quickload. Takes only a fraction of a second and you are back.

Yeah this bug has nothing to do with Valve. It's a bug with the game itself, that has apparently been a problem since its release. Don't expect a patch to fix it anytime soon. I've had the vsync on for about an hour and a half now, and have not come across the movement bug since, I'm assuming it worked.

Options-Graphics-Advanced Graphics, click on vsync.

Man, and here I thought this was another bug that would prevent me to keep enjoying this masterpiece.
It's interesting to see how something so... unreleated... would fix an unresponsive keyboard. Thanks a lot for the fix. I won't miss the fps counter displaying +100 frames lol

I bought it to use on a newish labtop for my daughter to try out. Same issues. And I've been through nearly everything that you can find on the web. She just stopped playing didn't even get off Taris.
