Good luck!
Gab
In my last playthrough, seeing as my character was nigh-unkillable (due to cheating, for screwing around with things such as this), I tried to kill him normally, and I believe I got the same result as just killing him the scripted way. So, you can either use one grenade and the bait, or tons of grenades and potentially die. One way or the other nets you the same result, but potentially much more risk and less reward if you do it the stupid way.
lay 6-7 frag mines in one spot near it invisi. deinvisi, bait it into the mines (fyi mines stack on top of each other so no need to spread them out), it dies, 750 xp. then go to the pile and put the odor and any kind of grendade (i used a concussion and it worked) and a cutscene appears where it approaches the pile and dies. WHAM 200 more xp. :D
