Mac OS X 10.8.2 KOTOR keeps crashing at startup please help

So the game ran fine on my old macbook but I got the newest one back in january, transfered all my files onto it and now the game won't load. I select whether I want to play in window or fullscreen (I have tried both) and then the screen goes black for a second and then the game quits unexpectedly. I have tried reinstalling it all to no avail. Please help, I can't see why this should be a problem.

Just for clarity sake, what OS was your old Macbook in? What video card does your new one have?

And what do you mean by transferring the files? You should have been able to just re-download the game, so was it just save files you're talking about?

My first suggestion would be to verify the integrity of the game cache. You right-click on the game in your library, select Properties, then Local Files, and Verify Integrity...

That tends to fix a lot of problems. Other options are to backup your saves, then delete and re-install the game. You might also try updating your OS to 10.8.3 since that's out (I don't think there are any special problems in 10.8.2, but it couldn't hurt).
