Any recommended mods?

Hi, I want to start playing this game as i've only heard good about the 2 games but is there any mods which are recommened to help make the game more playable for dumb down gamers these days who are use to having easy to use interface etc.

Well the game is already kind of "dumbed down" (when in comparison to more hardcore RPG titles like Baldurs Gate II and Temple of Elemental Evil, etc).

KOTOR is basically the prototype for the modern Mass Effect formula. If you can handle ME, this should be a relatively smooth transition.

As far as mods go, I only really have a few visual mods for KOTOR1, but KOTOR2 has the restoration mod that adds a lot of "deleted" content originally intended for the game.

KOTOR 1 has the Kotor Ultimate mod that adds 3GB of high resolution textures in lieu of the original ones.

I would be interested in what mods others recommend as well.

I use a ton off small mods i do use Kotor ultimate but also other reskin mods so taris lower city looks dirty and poor.
bastila on korriban with dialog.
elite sith trooper armor & mandalorian ultimate mod.
stormtrooper armor.
dark side romance witch was cut form the game.
turn mission vao into darth talon.
kill gorton & kill jedi on the star forge.
darkside bastila head reskin.
yuthura redeemed and have her with you and not juhani.
Darth revan pack.
Multi force choke.
I highly recommend Weapons of the Old Republic.

Theres a lot more but try them your self see witch ones you like the small mods can do more than the big ones.

i found the interface unplayable - gave it a shot and tried to get used to it, but the game is too dated to make it really worth my while - ill stick to fallout

The interface isn't even that bad. Also since you found this game unplayably archaic I will assume you are playing fallout 3 which has one of the most broken interfaces in a game to date....

new vegas...but fo3 isnt broken anymore...maybe the initial release was like 10 years ago... but at least fallout is customizable far as inputs are concerned - i couldnt get used to not being able to assign the mouse buttons...reversing the buttons sorta helped, but then the buttons are always reversed, even in-menu...how stupid

http://deadlystream.com/index.html Homesite of TSLRCM and several other major projects, they have download section for several newish mods
http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/ has biggest collection but has often technical problems (you need to refresh several times if file pages says no mod found, and sometimes it will fail to download, so you have to try several times). Also for many countries filefront in not available, so you need to connect using (preferably) american proxy server.

I think i did not use the patcher i drop the files the override folder.

Does it work that way. It has a "Source" and "tslpatchdata" folder. Did you just drop both of them in override folder?
