How do i change the settings to run windows xp service pack 2 and check the cache for KOTOR 1 on Windows 8
help me please, i bought the game on my old laptop and i loved it, just got this new one and i need help.

I've never really used Windows 8, but I imagine you'd backclick swkotor.exe, select properties, and choose the compatibility tab.

thanks and i figured it out after awhile :P i forgot how much i loved this game lol
this makes me rage!!!!
I have tried multiple methods others have said should work such as compatibility, file editing, and etc. but none have worked!!!! I NEED HELP!!!! :tank:

I've done them all tto Amazing and it worked for the first two levels of Taris but as soon as I got to the undercity the graphics went nuts. I was able to get past that board and went to Dantooine. Now it crashed every few minutes. Not sure what to do anymore.

Hey Amazing, I just read in another post about turning off the grass setting in the graphics option. I did that and so far no more crash. Maybe that will help. I loaded the game and from the main menu clicked options then graphics. then turned off the grass.

Have you guys tried disabling vertex buffer objects in the swkotor.ini? This setting seems to have fixed the random crashing I was getting.

[Graphics Options]
Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1

turning off grass and shadows is a good start
