downloaded game, made toon and boom crashes out

Yea, just had the same problem. Im sure there is a thread about it in here somewhere.

This also happens to me. I've played this game on PC before, but that was about 8 years ago on an XP machine. As soon as I create my character the game goes to a black screen and BAM, crash.

Disable Frame Buffer Effects.

IF that doesn't help - disable Soft Shadows as well.

You'll want to turn on VSync as well to avoid a gameplay bug where your character gets "stuck" after combat usually.

Did you try what I said?

I changed mine to WIndows Vista SP2 in the settings/compatibility of the .exe file and got it all fixed. Changing to XP did nothing.
