I died after beating Malak
Basically what happened is after I beat malak (as a jedi consular without force breach or lightsaber throw) I was in the cutscene of him admitting defeat and right in the middle of it, I died. Out of nowhere during the cutscene I had died and I have to start all over again. What the hell happened?

You might have been suffering from some damage over time (DOT) and you died during the conversation . It's never happened to me like that but that's all I can think off.

i wasn't because I was most certainly not poisoned, and i wasn't being drained of health during the fight. I was not suffering from anything relating to Damage over time, never during the fight. So why would I suddenly die DURING A CUTSCENE.

Its fine man, but I'm pissed off because I was so proud of it, especially since I was a Jedi Consular and not a Guardian or Sentinel. Hell I couldn't even use my force powers, I used my lightsaber and i beat him. it was fantastic, but now that victory is diminished because the game couldn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ handle that I won.

Alright I beat him again, and I died again! Why does it keep happening!?
That is a terrible plot twist the hero wins and saves the day! Then dies of a heart attack.

But really I don't know man that sucks I never had the problem, sorry I can't help maybe I can google-fu something for you.

Edit: I tried to find something anything on this but unfortunately it was for not. The best thing I can recommend is getting cheat engine and using infinite health to get past the cut scene. Sorry it sucks but the best I can do.

you know what, I'm tempted to not even bother fixing it because that is the greatest plot twist ever, that is now my headcanon for what happened. Revan died of a heart attack right as Malak laid there bleeding to death. You sir a genuis of the highest caliber. Now I'm tempted to make you my friend on steam just for that.

But thanks anyway for the help man, it really is appreciated. Although I"ve also had trouble with my AI partners being absolute morons and not doing what I order them to do, my character attacking when I tell him to heal, etc.

I'm just glad I beat him, as a jedi consular WITHOUT MY FORCE POWERS. I did not have any force powers to speak of that i could use against him because he had force immunity, so I had out lightsaber duel him and withstand his force attacks.

Thanks again for helping.

P.S. How do I use the cheat engine and get infinite health?
Heh, glad you like the new ending.

Um, cheat engine a link to download it.

And a link to a table that might work I'm not sure if it will or not let me know if you need more help using it.

Another method is to go under Steam->SteamApps->Common->swkotor->an then the configuration settings labelled "swkotor".

Once there, put in the line at any point in the coding under [Game Options] EnableCheats=1.

Save, and then you have cheats now readily available for you.

To use invulnerability, hit the ` key and type in "invulnerability". Type it again to turn it off.

Word of warning, if you ever save with cheats, you get a massive yellow line of text across your save displaying your shame of using cheats. Not that that should be an issue since you are at the end of the game, but still

I find cheat engine easier to use then most in game cheats and I normally get more options but maybe I'm just weird.

Alright, so I know this is 6 years ago but I was also having this problem in many cases and not just with Malak. So I'm going to put it here so people won't think this is some glitch and also because I see no one explaining this. So basically what happens when this occurs is you use battle stimulants or anything that (temporarily) boosts your health it eventually goes away. Basically if you boost your health and then your health drops very low while its boosted and the boost runs out, you die because there is no boost to preserve health. Basically say you are fighting Malak and you have 50/100 hp you then boost and get 75/100 (50+25) hp. The +25 is temporary then your health drops down to about 5 hp (-20+25) and your boost is still active eventually, it will run out during dialogue or when walking away from battle so then the 5 or the (-20+25) loses the (+25) becomes -20 and voila you're dead. That's basically it. (Sorry if this like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ algebra but that's the best way to explain it)
