Killing Malak as a consular?
He resists force powers in ways that should not be possible (being totally immune to force lightning for instance which is a DC 38 just for half damage (so he would need to have an 18 will saving throw and roll a nat 20, every single time, just for half damage, but he is completely resistant...)

and the only way for a consular to be half decent in melee is by buffing, which runs out during the huge amount of scripted nonsense, so you have to kit your way through him when the combat resumes, the medkit applications make the buffing take longer, which makes your ♥♥♥♥ty duration buffs run out before you have finished applying them.

Really rather ♥♥♥♥tily designed fight. Is there any trick to beating him, or is it just a matter of console commanding the fight away?

Kind of depressing that if I were playing a knight I could just stand there gormlessly and have the fight resolve itself :/.

Even with 109 will, he resists everything, yet I do not save vs any of his spells with my 70 will save... Good job bioware making the final fight impossible for 1/3rd of the classes.

Guess I will just set all of my stats for 20 and wade through the fight knight style...

Malak uses Force Immunity which renders him completely immune to most powers, use force breach to get through it.

Does he cast it without a casting animation and without any kind of "visual buff" effect on himself?

Because otherwise he resists even without it.

This may help.

I've seen him casting force immunity in my playthroughs (it's always the first thing he does) and the problem you are having sounds exactly like what happens when you try to use force powers against someone with the force immunity buff.

No I cast force lightning on him constantly for 3 minutes with my 109 will guy (109 will = effectively infinite force power), the buff he casts at the start had ran out ages ago, and he didnt do another buff, it was either hitting me or lightning-ing me, so if he does cast it then he does it without a cast animation and without a visual effect. He still had a 100% resist.

Possible the game is glitching out, it is a glitchy mess, but still.

Though even with force immunity, he shouldnt have a 100% resist, but a 75%. If I understand the spell right I am rolling a d20+20 and aiming to beat 35 (DC+Malaks level).

I need to figure out how to de-level myself so I can see if force breach will work vs him...

There are two different versions of force immunity, the first gives the caster a chance to resist, the second (which is actually refered to as "Force Immunity", the other is "Force Resist" or something) applies a defence in which there are no cracks (at least in my experience, I'm finding conflicting information and it's been a while since I've played), there are only 2 force powers that work on some one with immunity, Force Breach and Lightsaber Throw.

Unless the skill is different for NPCs, force resist and force immunity are the same spell, except resist is D20+Charlvl vs 10+Charlvl and immunity is D20+Charlvl vs 15+Charlvl.

Unless I can figure out how to delevel though I cant give myself breach to see if it works against him. Though his resist is too high for it to be either, unless he is either overleveled or using a different skill.

If he were lvl 26 for instance (or maybe 25 if they use draw favours defender), then that would explain it.

I've used force Immunity quite alot in my various playthroughs of the game and the way you are describing it working for Malak is the way it worked for me, I don't remember any force powers ever getting past it for me. When you use a force power on Malak does it say "Resisted" or "Immune"?

You can also use lightsaber throw, resistance\immunity doesn't work against them.

Says resisted. Depends what level you are, most of the enemies in the game are so weak that I assume they are low level, which would make your immunity 100%. You only have to outlevel the person by 5/6 for full immunity.

I have no memory of any enemy, including Malak himself, ever penetrating the force immunity buff.

Do you have force heal\good treat injury skill?

Force heal yeah, treat injury no because forceheal :D.

You must be remarkably lucky to have never had it be penetrated. Its a 25% if you are the same level as the enemy...

You should buy some lottery tickets :P.

Haha.

The first character I played was terribly built but I was able to push through the Malak fight using medpacks (Life Support, and Advanced), Force Heal and energy shields, it was ugly but I survived the fight (I didn't even know you could eliminate some of the Jedi bodies), you may be able to do something similiar as it sounds like your build is much better then mine was.
smallturns Nov 1, 2014 @ 12:31am
What dose he mean if you do mean any thing that you can eliminate jedi bodies. Do you mean you can make them disupere or what beacuse if you can eliminate their bodies I don't think I never new that?

As for Malak revens aprenties well you can beat hih nomatter who you, what class you pick, what person you want tobe or what path/side you chose knowing his just a big wimp anyway that's just gos and tryies to grab more power after taking a few swings at him with your wepon of curies.
__-__-__ Nov 1, 2014 @ 2:43pm
Apparently a few powers work on the bodies of the Jedi, not sure which ones though I'm pretty sure life drain is one of them.
smallturns Nov 3, 2014 @ 5:27pm
Wait what jedi or jedis are you talke about.

Are you taling about getting rid of the jadi bodies that you have killed aleady or the ones that are still a-live and are waitting to be killed?
