What is the point of the Yavin Station?

I just don't get the point of the Yavin Station. I know you can buy some items and stuff there but other then that theres just nothing. It is such a small area as well so no exploring can be done. Is there any point to it?

As far as I know, the vendor in there pays more for items being sold to him than vendors elsewhere in the game, but beyond that I dunno.

He hold most of the games best items.... You must see him after you complete each planet. So you go there a few times and his stock gets better.

It's just a DLC zone to give the player really powerful items that aren't there in the base game.

I dont how i got that but one time i came in there and some trandoshan killers attacked the station, after killing them they had lightsabercrystals you normaly cant get

That's normal. Once you reach that point the little Rodian opens up all of his inventory. Some really nice stuff in there.

When KOTOR first came out on Xbox, Yavin Station was only available via downloadable content. It doesn't have anything to do with the main story and visiting it is completely optional; however, there is some pretty good equipment you can get for yourself and your party members if you have the credits. My advice is go to Yavin after you leave Dantooine, after you escape the Leviathan (pick going to Yavin when you leave the third planet; you'll still be captured, but will automatically head there after), and before you head to the Unknown Planet.

Visit Yavin between every planet. Get yourself a good pazaak deck - if you win enough games against him the rodian gives you a discount which is well worth it on his best items. (Note that you can lose a LOT of money at this because he's pretty good. I don't mind admitting I save and reload every couple of pazaak games I play against him and settle for coming out even and getting the discount).

Yavin is the best place to sell good items - mandalorian armor, spare lightsabers, Tatooine swoop race bonds, etc.

As stated above, if you kill the trandoshans you get a chance to buy two unique lightsaber crystals. They are expensive and the discount for winning at pazaak comes in very handy at that point.
