Game Won't Start on Windows 11

Hello hello,

Knights of the Old Republic is not working on my Windows 11 gaming laptop. The game won't even start. When I try to launch it from anywhere (Steam library page, desktop shortcut, exe in swtor folder) my computer will ask me if I want to allow the game to make changes, then there will be a brief bit of buffering, and then nothing happens.

Neither running the game as administrator nor running it in any compatibility mode has worked thus far.

My important specs are:
AMD Ryzen 5 6600H with Radeon Graphics 3.30 GHz
16.0 GB Installed RAM (15.2 GB usable)
Windows 11 OS Build 22621.2283

Editing the .ini file to allow windowed mode and disable fullscreen didn't work either.

Context: I'm the one that bought OP the game and we couldn't get it to run last night.

1. Download and Reinstall CC+ Packages from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170 - (from 2010 to 2022 remember to download and install the correct version x64(bit) or (x86) for x32 Bit system. You can check bit by going to My PC rightclick and click properties ) install them and RESTART your computer
( This Step fixes usually kotor 1 and 2 crash issues on every machine I ever installed it)
The reason is this game hard requires the old vcredist libaries which windows 8 / 10 and 11 doesnt download automaticly for some reason... basicly you need to install those manually if you want to play any game made before 2008 using windows 10 or newer.

2. Disable Soft Shadows ingame option menu

3. Open \steamapps\common\swkotor <- rightclick the swkotor.exe , click properties and set compability mode to windows XP service pack 2

4. If all of above did not fix your crashes you could install windows XP on Virtual Machine and launch the game through this. Plenty of YT-Tutorials how to set it up.
