STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™

STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™

iPad version VS the PC
I have the game on both platforms and even though it's over a decade old it amazes me how the iPad version looks smoother than the PC/Xbox version.

Anyone have any opinions why they like/dislike one version over the other?

Well the iPad version doesn't have shadows for your party members and from memory you can't flourish your lightsaber weapons anymore, which sucks.

But putting those 2 things aside: content's identical, and if you find the PC version too much to deal with -- you really can't go wrong with the iPad version.

I'm personally waiting for K1R mod to be fully finished and mods are probably going to keep me playing the PC version.

I just looked into that mod, looks like an interesting project I will have to follow up on that.

I will probably still play the PC version after testing both of them for a few hours.

The iPad has the advantage of not having a streched out aspect ratio because of the screen being 4:3 which is nice and it's really comfortable to just play the game in bed whilst watching youtube or a movie.

The disadvantages I noticed were performance stutters on the iPad 2 in some areas and the lack of advanced control you get on a mouse and keyboard. Maybe this is less of an issue on the iPad 4+ models though.

All valid points except for the fact UI/HUD mods exist for widescreen players or you can have Flawless Widescreen do it all for you. The game plays nicely in 16:9 and doesn't look stretched IMO.

I have attempted to use flawless widescreen for K1 13 times. Every time the program instelf just crashes repeadetly or the bottom part of the screen isn't shown so I cant see my on use items or the dialogue box.

It also makes the interface really really tiny.

I havent tried the mod but I noticed on the iPhone 5S version that the UI is to small to be comfortable to use because of the screen size and resolution which didn't scale well.

Have you tried my widescreen guide?
