I cannot get Flawless Widescreen + Kotor to work on Windows 10
Back before windows 10 released, I used this guide to set it all up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6QE4WB1y14 [1]

I tried following this same guide on windows 10, but when I load up kotor with Flawless Widescreen running in the background, the game doesn't launch into a tiny window like normal and when I go to graphics options, I don't have any added resolutions or anything like I used to when using FWS+Kotor.

What am I doing wrong? Why is my Kotor launching in 1280 resolution with flawless widescreen running?

My steam instllation is in the default spot in the C drive, I honestly have no idea what to do at this point. so frustrating...

Deactivate Frame Buffer Effects and Flawless Widescreen works with KOTOR on WIN10. :steamhappy:

What is Frame Buffer Effects and how do I deactivate it? Is it something within Flawless Widescreen? Or is it something I turn off in game of via some other means?

Turned off Frame Buffering Effects, it still doesn't work with Flawless Widescreen running. Why did this work so perfectly with windows 7 but just doesnt function at all on windows 10? And every time I try to attempt this by running the kotor program, it also moves all my desktop icons randomly. FFS....

I just cant beleive this doesnt have widescreen support but they gave it to Kotor 2 which is imo the lesser game,

I had this same issue I had installed Flawless Widescreen after playing SWTOR. If you go in and default all your graphics settings and put resolution to the very first option shut down the game. Go start widescreen then start SWTOR again it should show all the resolution options.

i have w10, frame buffer enabled and it works fine for me.

i know that is no help but at least it shows it's not a problem for everyone.

Unfortunately this didnt work either. I really hoped it would too, I cannot imagine what the heck is going on here. It all worked so perfectly on windows 7, but all it does on windows 10 is randomly rearrange my desktop icons when I load up KOTOR, flawless widescreen does nothing. How annoying....

you have to change resolution in game. all flawless does is give you the ability to change to your native resolution.

sometimes it takes a couple tries for it to work, so if you don't see your native resolution in the games graphics settings, relaunch.

Unfortunately thats one of the first thing I tried. I know what the options are supposed to look like in game with FWS running, because I used to run it perfectly fine with Windows 7. I know theres supposed to be a whole bunch of different resolution options on the scrollbar inside the raphics settings when the game is running, but they never show up; FWS literally isn't doing anything.

But here with windows 10, I literally cannot play some of these games that I spent actual money on, which is ridiculous.

i'm on w10 and it's working fine for me. must be some glitch with your combination of parts and/or corrupted files :(

setting the graphic options to standard fixed this problem for me

You know, you have to not only relaunch, but to switch resolution before correct option appears.
